Ok... today I went with my mom to get her haircut. Afterwards she had a dentist appointment. She had a sore tooth. After Dr. Tingey took an X-ray, he said that it's a root canal. eek
But before the X-ray developed I looked in her mouth and noticed her bottom wisdom tooth was looking pretty bad. It had a bid chunk missing and it looked kinda rotten.
After Dr. Tingey was explaining about the tooth she came in the dentist for, she told him that she just noticed her wisdom tooth was bad. So.... she wanted to know if it could be filled. Dr. Tingey said yes, but because of my mom's age (47) it'll probably just keep chipping. So she wanted to have it pulled. eek
And I was thinking... "ok, this'll only take a few minutes." IT TOOK 35 MINUTES!!! Because her tooth was so decayed that it was coming out in pieces.
The first time he pulled on it, a big chunk came off. I thought it was her tooth. But nope... Dr. Tingey had to use a special tool to pry pieces of her tooth to get it all out.
The last piece was stuck in there and it took about 10 minutes for the last piece. But finally, he got it. It looked so painful cuz when he would try to pry pieces of the tooth, he was pushing so hard that his arm was shaking!! My mom said the only pain was when her cheek would get caught between the dental tool and Dr.Tingey's hand.

But that wasn't the worst part. The worst was for me. It brought back memories of one of the worst days of my life. wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance
I went to the dentist to get 5 teeth pulled to make room for my other teeth to move for my braces. They gave me a couple pills. I forgot what they were called, but they would make me feel loopy and calm me down. IT.... MADE.... ME.... LOOPY!!!! Anyway, I went back there. At the time, my dentist was Dr. Pocock. He retired a couple months ago.
He got me all set up in the horrible chair and gave me ALOT of litacane. My mouth got really numb in a matter of seconds.
The teeth getting pulled were 3 permanants and 2 baby teeth. One baby tooth didn't have a tooth under it. My orothodontist wanted it out just to make room cuz my mouth was pretty crowded.
I poked around in my mouth to make sure I was numb. I was. He went to do something else for a few mintues. And that loopy stuff was still working. UNTIL... the frickin dental assistant was telling me about her root canal and how it hurt really bad and how it was all bloody. I was thinking, "THANKS ALOT b***h!! MY LOOPY STUFF JUST WORE OFF!!" And it did. I wasn't calm or loopy anymore.
I was nervous and my face was pale. Dr. Pocock came back and got ready to pull!!
Now, every single time I've gotten a tooth pulled, they say all I'll feel is pressure. I never do. I feel pain no matter how numb I am. And he told me, "Ok, all you're going to feel is some pressure and maybe some discomfort."
This is what I felt:
~:~ Pain gonk
~:~ LOTS of pressure gonk
~:~ LOTS of discomfort gonk
~:~ Blood everywhere in my mouth gonk
~:~ Tears running down my face crying
It hurt so bad. Even my mom was crying! My face was swollen, my eyes were puffy and red, and I had so much gause in my mouth it felt someone shoved a bloody sock in my mouth. Dr. Pocock said not to rinse because it'll.... I forgot. But it won't be good to rinse. I had to swallow my blood to get it out of my mouth. dramallama
My mouth was bleeding for 2 hours. I didn't swallow any blood. Cuz if I did, I'd barf. I just got some water in my mouth and I didn't swish. I just kept it in my mouth for a mintue and just opened my mouth let the bloody water drip out. After about 2 1/2 hours it stopped bleeding. Ever since he pulled the last tooth I felt tired and woozy. When my mouth stopped bleeding, I just drank some water and went to bed. And I still have those 5 teeth!!!

That's why it hurt my mouth to watch them try to get my mom's tooth out. So they didn't do anything about the tooth she came in for. But she has to go back in about 2 weeks for a root canal. That'll bring back my memories AGAIN. sweatdrop
