Prologue
It was the year 2005; there were large cases of serial killings all over New York. The people nicknamed the killer the Arc Angel. The reason for this was because witnesses of the killings said that the killer had wings like an angel. Crime scene investigators clam to have found a shambled corpse of the victims and on the walls there were writings made from the victims blood. Forensics says that no two victims died the same way. For example, a couple of weeks ago one victim died from a fire. The entire apartment was torched and the corpse was burned to a crisp. And the victim before that, died of frost. For some reason the entire room was frozen and the victim lost all body heat. The corpse was dark blue. It seemed that every killing was done a different way, like from the existing elements like fire, ice, earth, wind, and so on. In addition, there was a pattern in the people he killed. The people he murdered were archeologists and paleontologists that used to work in the History Museum. Now there is only one scientist remaining. Alexandra Aleera was the paleontologist who had discovered a skeleton of an angel. What is bazaar about it is not that it is a skeleton of an actual angel but that the killings began right after the skeleton was put on display at the museum. Due to the killings we have anticipated the Arc Angel's movements and we believe that Alexandra will be the next target. I was sent to protect the woman. It was raining at the moment, the skies looked so dark it’s like there was no sun to begin with. I had arrived at the apartment building. I got suited up with the heaviest weapons and equipment I could ever get out of the Precinct. I walked in and up the stairs to room 314. I knocked on the door, and someone called out from the other side. "Who is it?" the voice responded. "Officer Marcus, I'm your bodyguard," I replied. "Just a minute..." she said as the door was being unlocked. The door opens and there was Alexandra. Alexandra was a young woman about twenty-seven. She was a little short and had long, black hair. And she wore glasses. "Ah, officer, please come in," she said walking in. I followed her inside. "Please sit down," she said. I sat down and she gave me a drink. "So the museum has some concern for my safety?" she asked. "Yeah, I mean there is someone out there who will probably come and kill you," I replied. She grinned as if she thought it was funny. She sat down and sipped the coffee she was drinking. "Well do you care for my safety?' she asked. I sipped my drink and said "Of course, I am here to protect you." She smiled, "Very well officer." I set all my weapons down. "How long do you plan on staying here?" She asked. "Until it is certain that you are safe," I replied. She nodded and drank again. Later that night she went to sleep and I was up sitting on the sofa with a gun in hand. I had a chill down my spine as if something was wrong. Meanwhile, Alexandra was in bed asleep. The only light that can be seen is my flashlight in the other room and the lightning outside. She slept soundly as if there was a perfect world out there. However in the shadows of her room there were two glowing red eyes. A figure stepped out of the shadows and closer to Alexandra. The figure pulled out a sword that glimmered in the darkness of the room. He raised it and aimed for Alexandra. Suddenly I kick the door open. "Alexandra get down!" I yelled so she would wake up. The loud yell frightened Alexandra and she rolled out of the bed and onto the floor. In that instant I began to fire on the figure. The light of the bullets revealed who it was. It was indeed the Arc Angel. It was a tall man in black armor; he did indeed have wings like those of an angel's however his were black. He blocked my shots with his sword. It was a two handed sword that he apparently held with one hand. He swung his sword at me and I managed to dodge out of his way. I opened fired again. He came closer and grabbed me by the neck. He looked into my eyes and he looked closer. His eyes glowed and a red beam came into my eyes. I yelled in agony, it felt like my eyes were being burned. He then dropped me to the floor and he turned to Alexandra who backed up into a corner. He pulled his sword out and attempted to slash her. Suddenly, I grabbed the blade and pulled it back. I forced it back and I punched the Arc Angel in the stomach regardless of his armor. It appeared that the punch broke that piece of armor. And he flew through the wall to the outside and he fell. He flew back up and he hovered there. "You seem to have harnessed the attack I did to you and converted it to your own advantage; Impressive I didn't know you were a Totema as well. However I must kill the girl," he said and then he raised his arm and concentrated a ball of fire and fired it into the room. I ran to Alexandra and covered her and the ball of fire exploded and the entire apartment was obliterated. The Arc Angel flew away. Somehow I was still alive, my entire back was seared, and Alexandra came out unscathed. I got up off of her and looked at the sky. "Totema? I'm a..." I said and then I collapsed. I could hear Alexandra calling my name and shaking me. Then I passed out
