I have decided that Old Man Logan is the Whore of Babylon.

In other news, everybody in the world seems to be either getting married this weekend or witnessing said matrimonial rites.

Okay, so that is perhaps a little bit of an exaggeration. Let's take the work "weekend" and expand it to "summer." Now that is a highly realistic statement and I have yet to think of anyone who is an exception. There have been an alarming number of wedding albums posted on facebook already. And I can't help but notice something.

They all look the same.
Don't tell any of them I said that.

But no, really. They start to blend together after a while. Weddings, that is. And do you really have any idea how complicated wedding-planning is? I thought I had my head pretty well wrapped around the idea, but wow. All those thousands of details just for something that is so very cookie-cutter-esque.

My wedding day will indeed be a day that I'm sure I shall remember quite vividly for the rest of my life. But what if I want everybody else to remember it, too? Yes, it will be MY day, but why can't I make it worthwhile for all those people who just have to sit there and watch? Why can't I have my best guy friend dress in drag and sing "Like a Virgin"? (Don't worry, I don't actually want to see that EVER.) If it IS my day, why can't I put some of myself into it, make people sit back later and go, "Classic Erica. That was amazing/hilarious/beautiful/some such adjective"? And why can't I leave out that stupid unity candle thing? One of the most boring parts of the ceremony, and do you know how much those things can cost? Totally not worth it.

While I've always been one who made it a point NOT to plan too much for my wedding when I didn't have any kind of boyfriend, serious or otherwise, ideas have just sort of been coming to me lately, being in the middle of wedding-planning and all.
