This song, "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M., has helped me enormously. I've always found music to be very therapeutic, whether I'm singing it, playing it, or just listening to it. But for the past year... my life's kept getting more and more ******** up. Just one bullshit complication piled onto another, the only things I've felt have been sadness and depression. After finding out who I am, what I am, changing so much (in some ways undesirably), losing nearly everything that means anything to me, it's been hard to hang onto any kind of joy or happiness, hell, I can't even say I'm okay or I'm fine without it being a complete lie. And today, when life seems to keep crashing down around me and I'm getting ever so close to giving up my last little shred of hope, I decided to listen to some R.E.M. music and found this song, "Everybody Hurts", and it's given me hope that I thought was completely out of my reach at this point. I hope that if anyone reading this (however few of you there may be) is going through a rough patch in your life right now, that this song can help you in some way like it did me. And while it may not be a permanent effect, if it helps at all, I think that's good enough.
