Blood Lust Chapter 1.
The year is 2010. Two years ago, disaster struck the country of America. A scientist named Everia Dracula discovered a compound that, if mixed right, granted a person the abilities of a vampire. With the growing popularity of vampires, humans lined up to get this new compound so they could become more like these creatures of the night. However, things went horribly wrong. Humans who gained these powers also gained more then just the strengths of a vampire, but the weaknesses too. One weakness gained, was the thirst for human blood. Crime rates skyrocketed around the United States, till the president declared that the compound could no longer be distributed to humans, and that it was legal to kill an attacking “vampire”. This caused a great disturbance in the vampire community. During a meeting of the United States congress, a terrorist attacked the Congress building. Everyone in the United States’ government was wiped out in a single attack. America quickly feel into turmoil. America was quickly taken over by mob bosses and crime lords and the country was divided into sectors. Religious groups took control and attempted to restore order to the country. The religious groups declared vampires to be “freaks and monstrosities of God” and began to wage war against the creatures of the night. Within a year of fighting, the vampires were quickly snuffed out. Only a few are left in the country. However, crime still was on the rise and the country was still controlled by crime lords. Groups formed to fight off the crime lords and try to bring peace back to America. Progress is slow. The odds of America changing anytime soon, is slim to none…

Tristan pulled into the parking garage of an old complex. The building was old and out of the way. No one really bothered to pay any attention to it, and that suited the building just fine. Tristan stepped out of his car and walked towards a lone door. He approached and put his hand on a panel next to the door. There was a quick scan of his hand and a beep. The door slid open. As Tristan walked in, he noticed a cold feeling. A man was leaning against a wall with his arms crossed near the entrance.
He was a tall and well-built man. Unlike Tristan, he wore a white outfit made of cloth. His coat was not nearly as long as Tristan’s, and his shirt was open slightly to expose his masculine chest. His hair was tied into a multi pronged ponytail. He had a light, yet scruffy beard. His sleeves were much wider then Tristan’s, allowing for more of a warrior look. He looked up at Tristan with red, piercing eyes. The air seemed to stop.
“You did a sloppy job tonight.” He said in a deep, commanding voice.
“What do you mean? Sure I let everyone’s guts spill out and left the robot in shambles. But, I killed every witness and the target. Why so angry ‘bout it, Cain? Not like I could just clean up after myself. The police were coming.” The man pushed off the wall and stood erected. His arms were no longer folded.
“You seem to have no regard for the secrecy of our group! You jeopardized us by trying to be flashy and cool! You need to clean up your act!” Cain’s voice echoed through out the building. Tristan seemed unphased by Cain’s sudden burst of anger.
“The only one I listen to is Hollow. Besides, I do a much more “artistic” job with my killings. As far as I’m concerned, you can take your advice and shove it up your a**.” Cain was furious.
“How dare you! You should show more respect for your superiors!” By this point pissed Cain. Tristan could tell. Tristan just smiled and made a jester with his hand and walked off. Cain growled and said something under his breath, but Tristan paid no attention to this. Suddenly, a woman jumped out from the shadows and planted her heel into Tristan’s foot. Tristan yelped in surprise and pain.
“Tristan! You really need to be more discrete about the way you go about things!” The woman had red eyes and red hair. She was wearing a blue dress with a blue hat. Both had a white trim around them. Tristan looked back at Cain, who was now smiling at Tristan’s pain. Tristan felt a yank by a warm hand. “You look at me when I’m talking to you! Because of you, I had to go and erase all the footage of your little escapade tonight! You know how hard that is? If the police saw the footage, then you would be caught and we would be busted! We are assassins!!! They are silent and sneaky. Like ninjas!!! Be more like a ninja, Tristan! A freaking, bloody ninja for crying out load!!!!”
Tristan was tired and real wasn’t in the mood to be yelled at by a crazy lady. Tristan sighed.
“Okay. I’ll try to be more discrete.” He said quietly. The woman liberated Tristan’s foot, which was throbbing with pain. “Now then,” he groaned, “I’m tired, Anise. I’m going to go lie down for a while.” Suddenly, a large set of computers and devices activated and began to glow. A large chair sat in the middle of it all. The chair swiveled around to reveal a small man sitting in it. He was small with a balding head of long white hair. He had a long pointed nose and ears, and wore glasses that covered his eyes. He wore a black suit, red tie, and white gloves. The man spoke.
“I’m sorry, my boy, but I have an assignment for the three of you.” He lifted his hand and the screen behind him flashed on. There was a building on the monitor, surrounded by people. There were police stationed around the building, and what appeared to be gunfire coming from inside the building. “I want you three to end the conflict. By any means necessary.” The man grinned. “Now, any questions?” Tristan spoke up.
“Yeah, I got one. Is there any significance to this crime to any of our previous missions? I don’t think stopping a bank heist is in our job description.” The man held up his hand to stop Tristan’s argument.
“Our “job description” is to keep peace in the city. This bank heist is obviously disrupting peace. So, according to our job description, we should attempt to stop it.” The man put his hand down. Tristan stood and looked at the monitor again, then back at the man. He sneered and walked towards the door. Cain followed Tristan through the door and towards the car. Anise moved towards a computer and sat down. The screen suddenly flashed on and two more screens came out.
Tristan got into his car, a black ford mustang, and started the engine. Cain got into the passengers side.
“Remember to park a few blocks away from the scene. Then, the police can’t follow us.” Cain said. He seemed much calmer now.
“I know. I know.” Tristan stepped on the gas and the car raced off towards the city.

Tristan and Cain were situated on the top of a building. The sun beat down on the two from high above in the sky. Tristan found the sun unbearable. You see, vampires can survive in the daylight, but there powers are drastically weakened. Cain peered through his sniper scope at the scene down below.
The police surrounded the adjacent building, hiding behind their cars and barricades, guns at the ready. Cain switched scopes, allowing him to see thermal readings. There were hostages in the building, about seven. There were three men wondering around and one offset from the others. It looked like he was talking into a radio or walky-talky. Cain pressed a button in his headset.
“Are you getting all this, Anise?” There was some static on the COM link.
“Yeah. I’m getting it.” Tristan and Cain had implants to their eyes. They looked like red contacts, but they are really small uplinks to the computers back at their headquarters. This allowed them to get feed back and assist in their missions. However, the link is only active when there is a mission. So their personal lives are exactly that, personal. But, I digress.
Anise over looked the data as quickly as possible. Her voice broke through the link again.
“Looks like the best thing to do is send in Tristan to distract them. Cain, you should use your thermal bullets and get the terrorists without breaking any windows and such.” Cain nodded. Tristan kept his gaze fixed on the building below. He sniffed the air.
“One of the hostages is bleeding. She’s lost a lot of blood. I don’t know how much longer she’ll last.” Cain stared at Tristan with a bewildered look. How can he do that? Anise’s voice broke through again.
“All the more reason to get in there and end the conflict sooner.” Tristan nodded and dived down below. He moved through the air gracefully before landing on the ground. There was a little shock to his legs, but he dismissed it as the sun causing him problems. Tristan moved in and hid behind a pillar. He looked around.
“I don’t see a safe way in.” He looked at the police, who were now staring at Tristan. The police weren’t used to being helped by vampires. Especially getting help in daylight. Tristan peered into the building. It seemed like the terrorists didn’t notice him. Suddenly, one of the terrorist’s had his head blown off. His body fell to the ground. This was his break. Tristan ran into the building and shot at the terrorist nearest the hostages. There was gunfire, but Tristan nimbly avoided it. Another terrorist had his head blown off as Tristan jumped into the air and shot at the last terrorist, hitting him in the chest three times. His blood sprayed out of his chest in a lovely spray of crimson red. Tristan landed on the ground, falling closer so he could gain his balance. The sunlight really took a toll on him.
The scent of an innocent came rushing into Tristan’s nostrils. He remembered the wounded hostage. He whirled around and scanned the hostages. He found her. A young woman with a bullet wound in her right shoulder. Tristan walked over to her and knelt down beside her. She had long red hair, which covered her face. Tristan brushed her hair away and got a glimpse of her face. Her eyes were closed, but she was breathing. Her face and lips were void of all color. The ambulance wouldn’t make it her in time. Tristan wrapped his left arm around her shoulders and grabbed her legs with his right arm. He picked her up and made a mad dash for the doors of the building.
When he got outside, reporters and cameras greeted him. There were too many voices to discern which question was coming from which person. Tristan jumped into the air and landed on a window ledge. He processed to jump across window ledges, trying desperately to reach the hospital before this young woman died. She moved slightly in his arms. She moaned and she pushed closer to his chest. Tristan paid no attention to this. He jumped down and landed in front of the hospital. He hurried inside.
“I need a doctor right now!” He hollered. Some men in white coats came rushing out. “She’s lost a lot of blood. And has a wound in her shoulder. Her vitals are weak. You have to hurry!” A stretcher came out from behind a double door. One of the doctors spoke.
“You don’t have to tell us to hurry.” The doctors motioned for the girl to be put on the stretcher. Tristan walked over and gentle put her down on the stretcher, making sure to take extra care of her. He moved back as the doctors started to wheel her out of the lobby and behind the double doors. Tristan just stared at the doors, her wellbeing haunting his mind. A voice suddenly cracked through.
“Tristan Raymon!!! What the hell do you think you’re doing?” It was Anise.
“She would have died if we waited for the ambulance.” Tristan said, his gaze still fixed on the double doors.
“Well, that’s very nice of you, but you have to come home now. Cain doesn’t have a ride home, remember?” Tristan sighed. He really wanted to know what happened to the girl.
“Okay…I’m coming.” Tristan walked out of the hospital and jumped onto a rooftop. He retraced his steps back to Cain, and then wondered back to his car.
