So the high school was tasked with cooking for a booth to be at the Sheraton Hotel for the AIDS Foundation Fundraiser. Of course, being high school students, came with discrimination against us and our food. Wine was plentiful (but we couldn't drink any), the art was lovely and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, the lighting was really awful and my phone didn't have a flash... so all the pictures are yellow. Hopefully the slightly more professional ones will be better (if I can get ahold on them).
This was our plaque. I thought it was nice.
This was our entrée. You can't really see it, but it was coconut rice with garlic and ginger shrimp. Green onion and cilantro to garnish.
This was the fruit cup. It was phyllo dough layered with melted butter and chopped macadamia nuts. It was filled with a brown sugar and vanilla sour cream and topped with strawberries.
They're my friends Donna (left) and Victoria (right) who were also helping.
Me and Donna. Photo taken by Victoria.
Me and coffee, haha.
Not Shown: Miso Salmon on Wasabi Mashed Potatoes. A chocolate fountain! This amazing dessert with coffee liqueur. Thai Beef on a Stick.
Also, Donna and I forgot to take some condoms they were handing out at the fundraiser so we went to Safeway in our chef coats and some guy came up to ask and asked if we knew anything about habanero peppers. Turns out he ate one and was steaming. Haha, it was quite entertaining.
