Gimme sum sugah an' review! ^^
chapter one~
I plunged into the icy water with a large splash, the last glimpse of Damian's resent filled eyes burnt into my mind. The hole in my chest seemed to be bigger than before and suddenly, I couldn't find the surface. I had no idea where I was at. Darkness was all around me, all through me. My lungs burned for air, merely adding to my pain. I began to feel myself going numb. My eyes closed and I felt myself sinking lower to the depths of the dark water, hoping to never rise.

'So much for never rising.' I thought as arms grabbed me by my waist and hauled me out of the trecherous water.

'Damian'

A flicker of hope filled my mind and I had to look. Had to see Damian one more time, no matter how much it might hurt me. I opened my eyes and looked into amber eyes. Damian had green eyes. Yet, these eyes held the same love Damian's did. How could that be?

It took me a moment to figure out, it was David. Coughing and sputtering, I attempted to sit up but fell back with a thump. I have no idea if David pushed me back to lay down, or if I merely fell in my dizziness. All I know is once I hit that ground I was unconcious, dreaming of my Love, my sweet Damian. But pictures of David haunted me as well, turning my dreams into nightmares.

I was drifting in and out of conciousness when I heard voices. I couldn't tell who it was, but I listened anyways. They were evidently disagreeing about something, but trying not wake someone up is what it sounded like, judging by the hissing whispers. Oh right, me. They evidently didn't want to wake me...as if they hadn't already.

"David! We can't take a-a-a human in!" One man spat out, acting as though the word tasted bad.

"We have to." A voice said from maybe an inch in front of me. I realized I was in David's arms with my head snuggled against his chest.

"I'll take her in," A gentle woman's voice said. Her voice seemed to calm everyone down, including myself. David knelt to her and I felt the woman's firm hand on my forehead. "Yes, I shall take her in."

"Thank you Mother," David whispered and I felt the transition of David's arms to the lady's arms. And I felt myself begin to lose myself again and fall back to unconciousness.

I have no idea how long I was in the lady's tent, all I know is I smelled something horrible and jumped up, clapping my hand over my nose with a shriek. A woman laughed and I turned, looking into her gleaming golden eyes. She had thin silvery hair that was pulled into a tightly wound bun. She smiled and walked over. She looked so frail I figured her steps would be shaky, but yet they were filled with a confidence I'd never forget. I cocked my head to the side in a confused manner. Where was I?

Footsteps were heard and David ran into the tent, excited beyond belief...and evidently words as well as all his words were jumbled together and he stuttered a lot.

"David, she needs her rest." The lady, David's evidently beloved Mother, said sternly but with a gentlness about it. My eyes widened as I realized where I was at. My breath escaped me in a gasp and I fell to my side on the bed, clutching my chest where the hole Damian had put in my chest returned as well. David gasped softly and picked me up, holding me tightly in his strong arms.

I began to feel numb. He was like my personal drug. It seemed with him around I was numbed enough to not feel the pain anymore. Not feel the betrayal of my lying fiancee, not see the resent filled eyes. But most of all, not feel the hatred that replaced my love for him.

David slowly lay on the bed, me in his arms still. I shook as I lay there, scared of the pain returning. I realized, I wanted him there with me. Wanted him with me all the time. Never wanted him to leave my side. I wanted to tell him but when I tried, I couldn't find my voice. So instead, I cuddled against his chest and weakly wrapped my arms around his waist. One of his arms held me close and the other entangled itself in my hair. He leaned down and rest his head in the crook of my neck. I could feel the warm puffs of his quick breaths against my neck and smiled.

"Never leave," I choked out in a whisper. David gave a soft chuckle.

"I'll stay as long as I can," He answered in a whisper as well. I sighed. "Want me to tell you-"

"No David, I want you to stay forever," I whispered. He chuckled, thinking I was playing.

"Okay Serena," He said, obviously lying. "I'll stay forever. Do you want me to tell you some stories?"

"Sounds good," I said, wanting to be kept occupied so I wouldn't have to think of him leaving. David sat up and pulled me onto his lap and wrapped his arms around me. I gazed up into the moon as he spoke, feeling the urge of wanting to hunt. It was then that my stomach let out a loud growl. David cracked up, and for the first time I did as well. He and I sat there laughing for a few minutes before he stood, holding his hand out to help me up. I gripped his firm hand and helped myself up. I realized, I was dressed in regular clothes like David. I wore dark blue jeans, a loose red tank top, and old grey tennis shoes. David wore black jeans that were cut so low it didn't seem legal (hell I didn't know what legal was anymore) for him to wear them, a tight muscle shirt that was ripped so it displayed his abs (a six pack...not that I was looking), and he was bare foot. I continued to hold his hand, but gestured to the clothes confused. The werewolves always made their own clothes. David laughed.

"Unlike the werewolves, we get along just fine with humans. How else would I have been so close to that school?" He asked with a chuckle, but froze when he realized he had dredged up the past. I stiffened for a moment, waiting for the seemingly endless pain to return, but it never did. I sighed softly and gave a small giggle.

"You're like my drug, my medication," I whispered. "I don't hurt when I'm around you."

"The same for me," He whispered in return, pulling me into a tight hug. I could hardly breathe but I didn't say anything. My stomach growled again and I blushed while he merely laughed. "I guess we should get going for some food then, eh?"

"Yeah," I murmured. He pulled me onto his back, my legs around his waist and arms around his neck, and he started to walk. I smiled softly, resting my head on his shoulder. The soft bumps and rocking lulled me to a black, dreamless sleep...

I awoke the next with a start, once again in the room. I looked around, panicked. David was gone. I jumped up and looked out the window at the starless night. I clutched my chest and stumbled back onto the bed as the pain returned. It was then that I made what was probably both my best and worst decision. I had to see Damian again. With my mission in mind I stumbled out of the tent and began walking towards the werewolf tribe village.

My bare feet rubbed against stray tree roots in the worn path, rocks digging into the already raw flesh of my foot. Before long my black hair was a disgusting mess of sweat from the humidity of the summer night along with dirt and leaves. But it was worth it, I convinced myself. I was going to see my Damian. Everything would be explained. Everything would make sense.

I gradually got closer to the village, more butterflies adding to my stomach with each step. I recognized the tribe line and stared blankly into the eyes of a wolf on the other side. He had a deep golden coat with a tint of brown in it, and deep green eyes that seemed to pierce into my soul. My breath caught in my throat and I stopped dead in my tracks as Trey tilted his head back in a howl of recognition. I smiled ever so slightly as Trey changed into his human form, brown-blonde hair gleaming in the moonlight.

"Welcome home Miss Serena! Damian's been waiting for you, I'll have to walk you there though." He said with a small laugh. I nodded and daintily stepped forward. His fingers intertwined with mine as most members of the pack always had done with me and we began to walk.

We walked the familiar dirt path that went through the center of the small village, tents lining along the side with the occasional stand. I watched as muzzles of different colors poked through different tent flaps, and occasionally a hand or face. I winced at each, recognizing each person in turn. So badly I wanted to stop and cry, telling them how much I'd missed them. But I knew most wouldn't welcome me back. It was unwerewolf to not hold a grudge against someone who had been with kitsune for so long.

Luckily it wasn't long though before I saw the familiar cave that jutted out of the cliffside. I stared blankly at it before finally stopping and closing my eyes as I listened to Trey's long howl, and to the short howl that returned. Trey turned with an almost evil smile as he let go of my hand. "Go on in,"
