So, I went out on a nice long walk with my sister today, and when we were almost back to the house, this dog starts barking. I turn and look, and then-

There's what looks like a chihuahua/dachshund mix running at us.

I immediately focus all my attention on its movements. It may have been small, but a bite is a bite nonetheless. It ran at me, barking, then moved on to my sister. I could hear its owner calling for it to come back, which it did...sort of.

It ran partway back, then turned and bolted back at me. It stood there, barking and snarling at me, and I was a bit hunched over trying to defend my legs using my water bottle as a shield. It ran around, barking and trying to find an opening to get me. I was very tempted to kick it. The whole time I was going "what the Hell? What the ********?"

Finally, the owner comes over and the dog runs back to her. She picks him up, and my sister and I just walk away.

There's a reason there's a leash law.

And that's not all.

About two weeks ago, my father was attacked by a Rotwiler (what, I don't know how to spell it, and spellcheck isn't working on it) while he was out walking my dog.

Chip was doing his business by a tree, when my dad heard this barking, and turned around to see this dog running at him. He turned away as soon as it jumped. If he hadn't moved, he might have died. The dog would have gotten him in the neck instead of the shoulder.

And the dog's owner? Clipped the leash on and got dragged through the grass by her own ******** dog. And she just ran away.

Naturally, this was reported to the police. I don't think they found the woman. If they did, I wasn't told.

There. Is. A. Reason. That. There. Is. A. Leash. Law.

It's so that dogs like THAT don't tear people apart! I love dogs! My nickname is Woofy! They're my absolute favorite animals in the world, but I will not cut them any slack if they're those kinds of dogs!
