It's effects last a few months at best with the youngest kids and the effectiveness goes down as the kids get older. The programs with the best success rates use older peers "telling it like it is." (high school presenters for MS; college age presenters for HS). This is because cops stop being cool in middle school, but older teens are always cool to younger kids and you want to work with teen culture instead of against it.
