Is anyone else ever bothered by nativity sets that portray the Magi as actually being present at the stable? Jesus had clearly been born by the time they got to Jerusalem at the very least. (The Magi asked the people in Jerusalem "Where is he who has been born?" I know it's possible that their timing might have been off, but it's not likely). And by the time word got to Herod and he and the Magi talked to the chief priests and they decided to head for Bethlehem...and then by the time they GOT to Bethlehem...
You know Mary and Joseph didn't just chill there in the stable for multiple weeks with a brand new baby. Pretty sure they went and hunted down real lodgings the very next day.
PLUS.
Matthew says (Chpt 2 v 11a) "And going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother,"
The HOUSE.
It may be stupid and OCD of me, but I won't have the Magi at my nativity scene someday when I get a full-sized one. Or maybe I'll have them but I'll put them on the other side of the room like they're on their way or something. I don't know.
