Areux stood across from his daughter, his arms crossed and his gaze never leaving her face.

"So you're betraying me?" he muttered.

Emily reached for the bandana around her forehead, ripping it off and throwing it on the dirty floor.

"You've brought me nothing more than misery!...I am my own woman, I do not belong to you or this army any longer!" she told him, stomping her boot onto the gem embedded in the bandana.

The turquoise gem crushed beneath her weight, making a light cracking noise.

Areux felt the hairs on the nape of his neck rise. "YOU DARE DISHONOR THIS ENTIRE MILITIA!?"

"Huh, it doesn't even matter that I'm your daughter, does it dad? It doesn't matter that I'm angry at you...That you have NEVER been a father to me in my ENTIRE LIFE!" she snapped.

Her eyes narrowed sharply at him. She reached for her hilt and snarled a little.

"AND FOR THAT! YOU WILL PAY!!" she yelled, unsheathing her sword.

Areux maintained his ground, removing the cloth from over his mouth.

"Emily..You've disappointed me...I suppose this is how it has to be."

His daughter felt a pinched nerve strike inside before she ran at her father full tilt.

"Brace yourself, father! For I am no longer that sad, pathetic, little girl I was long ago!"

(Long, awesome, ultra epic, fight scene, that I don't wanna write maybe later...)

Afterwards....

Areux stood before Emily, his back turned on her. He sheathed his sword as Emily panted and fell to her knees. She clutched onto her bleeding abdoman, applying pressure to the wound.

"Ungh..."

Blood began to drizzle down the side of her mouth as she looked up ather father..

"I have spared you...Now...Leave my sight," Areux demanded before walking off, his tattered, red, cloak swaying behind him.

Emily coughed up a little more blood before collapsing.

She didn't care that she was beaten by her father. Infact, she was shocked. Did he really just show her sympathy? Mercy? Why?!

A panging pain surged throughout her body at this point. She forced herself up, wincing in pain and limping out of her father's quarters.
