While some of you out there might be sick of it, this might be the first actual snowfall I've seen all winter, so I just got really excited and had to write this out.
THINGS I LOVE ABOUT SNOW:
- It makes everything else so pretty the way it settles, adding extra dimension to the world.
- The uniqueness of it all. I'd be willing to bet a hefty sum that there are more snowflakes falling on the Earth at one time than there are people in existence at that same time. And yet they say that even each snowflake is its own individual and that there are no two alike. Something in me always wants to question that, but shall I really put a limit on the One who makes the snowflakes?
- Snow doesn't always fall the same way. I love how the eskimos have different words for several different types of snow. Sometimes it falls really wet or slushy, sometimes more solid but still dense (you know, the kind that's perfect for snowballs). This morning it was that kind that's really light and just sorta swirls around on the pavement.
- It gets children out of school.
- It gets me out of work.
- It gets people out of said responsibilities and then entices us to surround ourselves in it. Makes for some of the best play in the world.
- Walking through a snow-covered area that no one else has walked in. Few things make me happier than looking out over an undisturbed expanse of snow, and then strolling right through the middle of it. Like I'm a pioneer or something.
- It makes great sculpting material.
- It makes even better ammo.
