miscellaneous- part 1
The leaves from the dying trees crunched under my foot as I walked. Where was I going? I had no idea. All I knew was that I was going to get there, and when I did, I was going to find her. I squinted against the glare of the city lights, this part of New York never slept and unlike most people I preferred to be surrounded by darkness. No streetlights, no flashlights, not even a glow stick. Nothing. Why am I in new york? I've asked myself that a thousand times, and yet here was, still searching, Striving, to find that one thing I didn't know, but desperately needed. And needed soon. What she possessed I didn't know, Nor know why I needed it. But I did. A woman, tall, slender, with long fiery red hair, swooped past me, the sent of her hair bushed against my nose as if the fibers were reaching out to me. A second passed, and then something weird happened. I froze. Suddenly, in the middle of a crowed street, with late night shop till you drop teens, drunks, lovers and every other type of person crowding the street, I stopped frozen in my tracks. A large burly man pushed me to the side, his mouth drenched with the sour smell of whiskey said, " Hey why don'tcha keep on movin' this aint no Disneyland district ya know?"

His voice sounded far away, normally I would've confronted this kind of character but something else had my attention entirely. The need. I spun around and scanned the crowd for the woman who had past just moments before. She was gone. I ignored the large man now who was once again telling me something, but his voice was blurred out by the frantic pounding my heart. Gone? she couldn't be gone, she was just here! I thought as a sprinted from the man into the crowd In the direction I could've only hoped the woman was going. The crowd seemed to be a massive force, trying to push me away from where I wanted to go. Thankfully strength was never a problem for me, and I got though the masses quickly, just in time to see a flicker of read hair sweep around the corner.

Like a wolf to a lamb, I chased after her, desperate, some invisible iron clad chain held me to her. Pushing pedestrians mercilessly out of my way I rounded the corner just in time to see her enter an alley way. Destiny filled my chest as I rushed after her. In the back of my head I thought, what am i doing? Oddly I didn't feel like she was in harms way, in fact if anyone was in danger...I felt it was me. I continued to chase after the unknown. She led me down an alley way, leading on to another street, a much quieter one, on to a sub street which lead to another alley way and finally to a large empty parking lot structure. I slowed down my pace. I forgot to breath and consciously made myself look busy panting. I was certain she wasn't human. At the speed I was running I could have out ran a cheetah. Even worse was that she was walking, no she didn't walk, she glided. I followed her into the building and was keenly aware that my presence was known. She never turned around to check, nor did she acknowledge me in anyway, yet I was certain she knew. Still I kept my distance, and only looked in her direction when I wasn't sure where she was going. The parking structure was old and dark, pitch black, though I could see perfectly fine, It was my kind of lighting. The echoing sound of rats and other creatures of the nights filled the air, as well as the damp acid smell of mildew. There were no foot steps, no steady rhythm of breathing, no familiar warmth given off by normal human beings. We didn't possess these things. They were unnecessary to our purpose. I followed her up a spiral staircase noticing how she paused at each new floor as if to check for something, and then hurry to the next level as if she were about to attend a surprise party, her hair flowing swiftly behind her, dazing me, causing me to pause and regain my footing.

When I reached the third floor she was no where to be seen, and I panicked for a second, but before I could complete my feeling of panic something caught my eye... A shiny piece of metal glowed on the ground in front of me. I reached down to pick it up, and immediately I realized what it was. It was a key. For what, I thought as I put it in my jeans pocket. Pausing for a moment I thought of what to do next. Then I knew. I was to continue to the top floor, which would be the 9th story. When I reached it, about three seconds later, I noticed that this floor was much darker, yet some how, much clearer to see. As if contacts were taken from my eyes and my naked eye was seeing perfectly for the first time. I took a moment to observe the crumbling structure, when I noticed someone sitting on the other side of the vast lot. It was her. She sat pleasantly in an fancy looking chair of sorts, facing my direction. Her hair settled pleasantly around her shoulders and she kept her face steady on me, her eyes intense. The expression on her face was one I never forgot, A blank face, Pure in beauty but void in emotion. My jaw locked in a grim hard line, for some reason, this look on her face made me angry. Slowly, though confidently I walked towards her. I stopped about a yard away from her, her eyes followed my every movement. Before I could open my mouth, she spoke.
" Ah, at last. I have been waiting." she said pleasantly, keeping her eyes steadily on me.
" For what?" I asked eying her, for the first time suspicious.
"Not for what, for whom." she said, softly, her voice as smooth as velvet.
" For who?" I asked. Though I already guessed her response, it was still a shock when she responded boldly giving the closest I've seen her make to a smile,
"For you."
