I was once a denizen of the dark. I was forced to wander through the inkly black realm for all eternity. However one day a similar creature as myself appeared from the dark and proposed an offer. "Would you like to leave the darkness?" At the time I did not realize the full meaning of what she had said but I went with anyway. We travelled until she said that we had arrived. My eyes were clouded and I could not see the splender before me. A maiden, a pure white maiden, cast her light upon me but I was so immersed in darkness that I could not see it. I spent a night with her in dancing and merryment but I was blind. In the end the maiden went on her way because I had not intrigued her. I was blinded and didn't see the precious opportunity slip through my fingers like water. I stumbled into the depths of darkness once again because it was the only place I knew. Time passed and I wandered. then two years after that night, I met a new person, a man who asked me if I would like a second chance. I followed this man hoping for a way to dispel this darkness. I entered the presence of the white maiden again and her light banished the darkness. tears welled into my seeing eyes because I had seen the light for the first time in a long time. I looked upon the face of that fair maiden a memorized everything about her. I pledged my undying gratitude for her light. Now I live in a weakened darkness. I live everyday wondering if I will ever be free of the darkness or will sink back into those dark depths.
