Another installment of history that some would say never happened. Just wait for your dreams to take you to a world of mystic joy and wonder.
Ranoras meditated at Crescent Lake watching the floating lights darting about the sky brightening the glum forest. He thought of the demon Rashika that had previously caused him much torment. Would he ever get his revenge without his anger getting in the way? He had often wondered this, but since he had met Bryce it burned deeper because of Bryce's resemblance to his eternally lost friend.
The leaves of the willow behind him rustled as a zephyr passed. The wind passed his face leaving a smile. It flowed over Ranoras as water would ridding him of his anxiety and torment. It moved on a whim and he wished to move with it. He found himself standing and soon went off to follow the wind as it traveled away on its journey.
He wound in and out of trees following the stream of air feeling it rustle his hair and he felt great joy in this race. He did not know where the wind would head but he intended to get there first. He started to sprint getting faster and faster. The wind now carried voices almost jeering at him for his attempts. He shrugged and continued on the voices of the wind spirits fading behind him. The air fell slient as sudden as Ranoras' heart lept. New voices could be heard, and they were heading for him. He took a couple steps back as the wind caught up. He now heard clearly what it was saying. It was a warning of the path ahead.
A demon stepped confidentely from behind some trees. His skin gave of a putrid stench of death and his mouth trickled with blood from a fresh kill. This was obviously a tough demon. Ranoras had beaten his kind before. He leaped forward to kill the abomination.
He was about to kill it when he saw the creature's eyes. They were filled with pain and went blank. It slumped forward dead as Rashika pulled a burning sword from its back. Rashika looked across at him with only one thing to say, "You might have noticed that the demons are getting restless. We may be rivals, but I would like to propose a deal..."
