I don't even know where to being really. I guess the beginning? On Sunday at my town's Disabilities Awareness Day, there was a woman who had a petition. I listened to her story and it broke my heart. Her son, Frankie, is in an institution, being physically, mentally, and sexually abused and she's trying to gain enough signatures to get him released. Since I have a younger brother who has autism, it really hit home. It made me wonder how I'd react if I was in that situation. So after posting a bulletin on my Myspace and a journal in my dA, I decided to post it in a few places here on Gaia in some popular threads. Well, needless to say, some asshat thought it was a scam and threatened to report me for a suspicious link. Normally, if it weren't a topic that I felt so strongly for, I would have told them to screw off; but it really pisses me off that someone is more concerned about some pixels that don't really exist anywhere but in cyber space than about the well being and ethical treatment of a disabled person. This is the exact reason that this world is going to hell. So many people are so self-centered and it's because of that, that people who have no voice of their own get abused and mistreated. How would you feel if it were your son or daughter being abused on a daily basis? Having to fear for their lives and never being able to see their family? Who have had their rights as an American (let alone a human being) taken and been treated like animals? I'm really on the verge of tears. Not for what was said to me. I couldn't give a ******** less about what that one jerk off thinks of me; but for the fact that this world is such a screwed up place to live and that images on a computer screen are more valuable than the value of a human life. It's sick, isn't it? Or am I the only person left in the world who thinks that a life is sacred and that people who have disabilities are something we should cherish and love? It's absolutely disgusting. It makes me want to puke. It's so ridiculous that I don't even have words for it anymore. I just pray that I never encounter someone like that in the real world, because I'll be going to jail for murder.

For those of you that have known me for a while, please don't think this is directed at you. Some of you have known me for years and know I would never want to scam somebody, and I would only ask for your time if it was something that I felt was important.

For those of you who have recently become my friends, I don't expect you to know that about me. I'm a HUGE advocate for equal rights for the disabled and I have been since I was a child. My little brother is my world and there's going to be a time in his life that he's going to face road blocks because of his autism. I want to make sure that I'm there to knock them down so he can be treated just like everyone else, which is why I posted the link to the petition in the first place.

I just want to do what I can for someone who doesn't have a voice anymore, but apparently, that makes me a scammer. All because I give a damn about something and I want to make this shitty world a better place. Go figure. Sorry to break it to you, but I will NEVER become a cold hearted scumbag who is more concerned about pixels in her virtual world than the real world.

Now that I have an outrageous migraine and I feel like I'm gonna barf, I'm done. Oh, and just in case the person who started this whole thing is reading, keep in mind that your judgment day will come and I really hope you enjoy your eternity in hell.
