The orphanage was more like a jail rather than a temporary home. Cold, dark at times, and damp, dreadful during winter. Though after a year or so the children learned the ticks and trades on how to stay warm, dry, and well fed. Anieda however, has been in the place since she was ten, not she is Seven-teen soon to be eight-teen and she will be out of this rotten place. She would have been adopted if it wasn't for the sudden boom and rise for wants of young boys to do all the dirty work in the town. Besides she was raised in an all boy orphanage. The man and his wife who ran the joint wouldn't allow her to be adopted. They only took her in so she could clean up after all the boys. How she hated it. If it wasn't for the barn and it's horses, she would have been a mess and gone stir crazy. However, after the owners saw how much joy she was getting out of it and after an adult inquired about her skills with horses they took the barn away from her. Anieda often got picked on because she was a girl, but now that she is older the usual pickings stop, but most still goes on. She had one good friend who recently got adopted, a piece of her heart fallowed with her best friend. At least he doesn't have to protect her now.
