(The intro is finally done... Now for the bulk of the story after this installment)
The fox was slowing them down and the wolf feared the farmer's wife might send the other dogs after them. The trees started getting closer and thicker revealing to the pair aged oaks and redwoods.
They heard muffled barks behind them and a cool sensation washed over them leaving the two breathless. There was an opening ahead filled with dancing lights with wings and stunning creatures. They creeped forward the sounds behind them dissapearing. One of the lights landed on the wolf's nose and to the wolf's surprise started to speak to him.
"Welcome to the Elvin Glade," it giggled. "It would be dreadful to see two devoted friends killed," it mused, "I will give you both a gift." The fox had caught up and was staring quizically at the small glowing form on the wolf's nose. They followed the figure with thier heads as it floated upward and began to spin like an enraged lighting bug.
The figure started to glow brighter until it was blinding the two and the same cool sensation washed over them again. It was like walking through a waterfall although they felt like the water itself as they began to change.
The wolf shook its head. Opening its eyes it stared in front of him and saw a human standing there. It had red hair and was wearing nothing. The wolf attempted to growl, but a strange sound came out. He looked down at himself to see he was a human too. He glanced up at the faerie realizing what just happened. He was about to shout at the faerie when the red haired man spoke first. "What blessing is it to make us human? Those bloody idiots hate us and we return that hate tenfold!" The faerie gave out a long chuckle, "Then maybe this will be good for you." The fox charged at the faerie, but it disapeared in a blinding veil of light and the two found themselves somewhere else in the forest than the glade.
