"It's a chance I must take," Andree said. "I have to know why; I must get back to the camp." She really didn't want to see this Korgon person but she had to leave.
"That will not be possible," Korgon said as Vergil's features changed. "See, my brother has no power over what I do. My soul is slowly swallowing his."
"But why am I here? Why did you attack us?" Andree asked with a hiss. She made to get up but stumbbled. She laid her hand on the cave wall and fell to her knees.
Korgon got up and quickly moved over to Andree's side and showing a strange gentleness wrapped his arms around her. "You must take it easy; I'm afaird I hurt you a bit more then I intended." He placed a tender hand on his cheek and rubbed it gently as he added, "I have a lot to explain." For the sake of getting him to let go she nodded. "Very well, here; something to eat and ease your pain."
Over four hours had gone by when Korgon finally had to let Vergil take control once more. Andree sat back and watched as Vergil shook his head and opened his eyes. "So things went well?"
"I wouldn't say that but now I at least know why I'm here and not back at camp." Andree sighed as she looked around the strange cave. "He said that he took me because he sensed a great darkness within. A power he wants to help me harness and control before it takes me over."
"Yes, I feared that it might be that. I sense it as well and it's growing quickly," Vergil said. "But I fear too that he only wants you to master it so that he might use it to do as he wishs." He shook his head as he frowned. "My soul is too weak to fight him again. Soon I will be the prisoner within my own body. But until then I can help you as well. Not to only control your power but to make sure my brother can't use it agaisnt you."
