"[Rapunzel] said: 'I will willingly go away with [your majesty], but I do not know how to get down. Bring with you a skein of silk every time that you come, and I will weave a ladder with it, and when that is ready I will descend, and you will take me on your horse.'"
You know...if Rapunzel (let's assume she had a shred of intelligence here) really wanted to be free from that tower...I mean really, really, TRULY wanted to be free...couldn't she have just used her hair as her OWN escape rope? Wound it around the hook and made her own escape and met up with the prince elsewhere? Even though she'd have to cut it off herself when she got to the bottom, wouldn't it be worth the freedom? She could still keep it fairly long, right?
Then again, what was it that she really wanted? Did she really want freedom so badly? Or did she just want someone to fight for her? So badly that she was willing to stay stuck up there until her silk ladder was ready at the risk that he would give up and stop coming? Or that they would get caught (which they did)? Sounds pretty stupid, if you ask me.
Except that I think I might be just like her.
