The boy walked the halls untill he came to a heavy door and pushed it open. On the other side was a library filled with shelves apon shelves of books. He walked along side one, scanning the titles as he passed looking for one that might catch his interest today. As he reached the end of the shelf he found a spider web taken up the end infront of some of the tomes. His eyes fell on a moth that had fallen pray to the web. He then caught sight of the one that called the web its home. The hungry spider crawled quickly across the silk and began wraping the moth in its webbing, preparing it's meal. Before the bug was half covered, the boys hand quickly took hold of the two, gripping them tightly to ensure neither would servive. He paused for a moment then drew his hand from the newly ruined web, pulling some pieces back with it. With his hand still clintched a womens familiar voice came from behind him. "Taking life when it feels most secure." Her voice was soft and slightly deep for a women and held a soothing tone.
The boy didn't turn to see the one that had entered the room more silently then death, he only looked at the hand that held the two crushed insects. "Life is so fragile...such a small action can take it..." He said coldly. "Indeed it can. And why did you?" The women asked standing several feet back from the boy. He opened his hand and looked at the two tiny corpses. "They were wasting time. The spider kills to slowly and the moth struggles against hope." "They are insects, young one." She said calmly awaiting the boys next response. "They were in my way." The women smiled and gave a low giggle. "You learn well my child. Come, let me look in your eyes." At that Kage turned to face her.
Her skin was soft and smooth, her long black hair flowed elegantly and hung gently against her shoulders. Her eyes were both soft and piercing and almost seemed to glow in any light. Her dress was pure silk and red as fire, the gloves she wore went past her elbows and were of the softest of fabrics.

Kage walked those few steps up to her and looked up into her eyes, his height leaving him only just above her waist. As he approached, her hands raised to jaw and she looked deeply into his eyes. Looking beyond the surface and far deeper then the boy knew. "You have great potential, Kage. You learn quickly, you understand well and you have in you the traits that make a man strong. You will grow strong in your time." His look never changed, the same expression held firmly to his face. "Thank you Mistress Alexandra, but I want to study...I wish to know more of my Shadowcraft." She smiled a smile deeper than darkness as she looked back at the boy. "Study well, for your craft will serve you well in your tasks ahead."
