Dyer's Eve: Into Darkness
Kage stood on a hilltop at sunset looking down on a lone village. The sorceress, Alexandra, Standing just behind him. Today was his 14th birthday, and as a present Alexandra had givin him a set of elven made, curved daggers. Five in all and each with its own sheath. The blades had no gaurds, the handles were slightly curve as were the blades. He had them hidden underneath a travelers cloak, tattered and torn and covered in dirt and stains. His white hair hung just above his shoulders as his determined eyes stared at the village. "I am ready, Mistress..." He said coldly. "This will prove that or not. You know what you must do." At that he started down the hill, developing a strugled step as he walked.

With one arm acrost his waist he entered the village. Some towns people giving him curious looks as he drug one leg behind him. His eyes searching for one that would reach out a helping hand. As he passed a tavern a mans voice called to him. "Say there! You alright?" Kage looked to see the old tavern keeper walking his way. "Are you alright lad?" The man said as he put a firm hand on Kage's shoulder. "Young fella like you need not be wanderin 'roung like you are. Come on, let's get you cleaned up and some food in yer belly." With that the man led Kage into the tavern and to a table in the corner right next to the bar. A lone waitress walked over with a concerned look on her face. "You poor thing. Are you hurt?" She said commenting on his limp. Kage only shook his head. "I'll fix you a hot bowl of soup and fetch some fresh clothes, I'm gonna check that limp like it or not. That worries me hun." She said as she walked away from the boy. The tavern keeper looked down at him with his hands on his hips. He was a large man standing atleast 3 feet taller then Kage and still had a foot and half on the waitress. He was thick and broad shouldered, a towering man. "Susan'll take care o' you lad, don' worry." With that he walked away and into the back room where the waitress had dissapeared too.

It wasn't long before she had brought the bowl of soup and placed it infront of Kage with a ready spoon resting inside. "Eat up now, I know your hungry." Kage reluctantly took the spoon in hand and had his first taste of the soup. The fact it was freshly made and hot enough to sooth but not to scauld was the only positive note he could derive from the dish. It was bland and tasteless, and he was unsure if the lumps floating in it were ever meant to be consumed by the human body. He simply gave a nod as he filled the spoon again with the waitress looking on. "Hit's the spot doesn't it?" She commented with a smile. Again he only gave a nod as she sat down beside him. "When your done there I'll patch your leg. Does it hurt bad?" She asked looking at him curiously. Kage only stared into the bowl of soup hesitant to pull the spoon from the liquid again. "Cat got your tongue hun?" A playful grin came across her face trying to spark some life in the boy. "Let the boy eat, He's probably just starved." The keeper said before walking back into the back room. The waitress got up and started that direction, stoping half way to call back to him. "I'm just trying to help him, you let me handle it." When she turned back Kage was standing just witin arms reach of her, his head tilted down casting a shadow over his face. The women jumped seeing him and placed a hand over her heart. "Woah! Heh, ya scared me there hun...Is everything alright? She looked at him curiously, growing more concerned by the moment. "Hun?...Are you alr-" She had just begun to reach for his shoulder as he quickly drew out a dagger from underneath his cloak and slashed across her throat. It was done so fast she didnt even have time enough to blink. She fell silent as she stood staring over his head with a crimson stream flowing from her neck. Her eyes widened as she turned back and staggered a single step and collapsed to the floor struggling to breath.

Kage stared down at her as she tried crawling for the back room. The keeper came out of the back with an empty crate in hand ready to be filled with the rest of the dirty dishes that covered some of the tables. He was wistling a little tune untill he saw her laying on the floor in a pool of blood. "Susan!" He droped the crate in shock and looked up at Kage who still held the dagger in his hand. The boys piercing eyes stared back at him filled with rage. "Boy...I'll see you burn for this!" He said in anger as he reached back for a ready wood cutting axe and wielded it as he took heavy strides at Kage who stood firm as a statue.

The great man drew back the axe and gave it a strong swing from around his side at Kage, but just as the blade came around he jumped above the swing and drew another dagger from under his cloak. The axe stuck in the bar with a loud crack as Kage came down with both blade aimed at the tops of the mans shoulders, where they pierced in effortlessly. The giant man growled in pain as he droped to one knee. Kage ripped the daggers from his shoulders. "Call for help..." The boy said coldly as he held both blades to the mans neck. The man looked fearfully into his eyes and just as he started to let out a cry kage slashed his throat with the blades. As the man gargled he fell back onto the floor laying beside the waitress. Kage sheathed the daggers and ripped the axe from its place in the bar just as the sounds of concerned villages could be heard drawing closer. He hurried to the back room, grabbing a latern from the bar as he passed. Inside the room were barrels of ale and various other alcohols. He knocked several over, cracking them open and spilling the content all over the floor and nearby box's. As he through the lantern on the liquids they burst into flames and he heard the sounds of several people rushing into the building, screaming and calling out for others in terror at what they saw. He grabbed a meat cleaver that rested on a nearby table and walked back into the main room.

There were now atleast ten people in the tavern with more outside worried over what was going on. They all looked at him in fear as a few began to question. "Boy! what happened here?" "Who did this!?" "What did you do!?" He looked at them all as he brought the Cleaver and Axe into view. "I claimed their lives...and your's are next..." He said coldly as he charged the group, slashing and hacking without mercy. Cutting them down one by one, catching those that tried to run and finally making it outside by steping over a fresh corpse. He slowly walked forward at the crowd of villagers that remained. Each one speechless, gripped with fear and unsure of what do to if there was anything they could do. He saw women, children his age and younger and elder. All stages in life and all helpless to stop him.

One tried to flee only to find the cleaver thrown and stuck into their back. As another made the same mistake the blade of the axe burried itself into the back of their head instantly taking them to the groun. Kage stood menacingly infront of the tavern that was now engulfed in flames. A few more seconds and the building exploded, the flames had reached the barrels and set them off. Flaming debry fell on neighboring buildings and trees catching them on fire. Full panic had no consumed the once peaceful village as the towns folk fled in terror. Kage gave chase to some, cutting them down with his daggers, others he attacked with magic. Sending lighting, flames and shadows from the palms of his hands and into his victems. As he walked the streets continuing his rampage he used the same spells to set fire to each building he found. Embers filled the air as more and more people fell by his hand.

From atop the hill where he started Alexandra watched with pleasure as Kage unleashed destruction on everything in site. A dark laugh slowly built and flowed from her. "That's it...Kill them all...The more they fear you...The more destruction you cause...The stronger you'll become." Her eyes filled with both pride and lust for destruction as she continued watching. "Let the darkness fill you...and never forget...You are my puppet."
