Khurshid and Muhshid fly into the protected valley of the northerner's dragon knights. They were sent by the king to learn to fight with the nation's dragon guard, however the guards were not expecting the sudden appearance of the dragon 'mercenaries'. The Guard leader walks up to who he thinks is the mercenary leader; a large, over muscled man with tattoos covering half his face. The man does not speak English so he calls out to Muhshid who speaks both his language and English. She translates back and forth between the two until the leader asks the mercenary leader into his quarters to discuss what they will do to accommodate the twenty dragons and over four hundred people who act as crews to each dragon. Muhshid calls out to her sister and the two start following the guard leader only to confuse him.
The twins and their eighteen quickly start pulling their weight, their crews proving that they are dedicated to the work with their dragons. They are only in the valley for three months before a sudden noise wakes the entire valley. Khurshid has been murdered, her dragon only moments too late to save her, or eat her killer. Muhshid, the shyer of the sisters is left in a pit of despair. She goes through her sister's funeral almost numbly, then disappears into her rooms, until her men captures her sister's killer.
At his interogation she shows her brutality, something no one knew she had. She has the murder tortured until he gives up all the information about where he's from, who he's working for, and why he killed Khurshid. Muhshid finishes her training with her men and leads them into battle, where they become known as the most ruthless fighters in the area. Muhshid fights until she personally kills the man who ordered her sister's death.
After that she becomes the consultant for the ambassador who is working to build a treaty with Muhshid's country. Her father has since died, and her brother, the sixth son, now sits on the throne. The young king merely sees his sister in dragon knight's coat and throws his arms around her. He names her his personal dragon Guard welcoming her and all women into the Persian dragon knights. Life for Muhshid quickly becomes the same it was before she was exiled how ever. The proud lady dragon knight simply disappears into the history books, when she decides to go back to her wandering way of life, this time with her lover instead of her sister.
