This is just a VERY short drabble I thought up while lying in bed one morning.

Summary:(kakanaru) lying in bed listening to the rain Naruto thinking over the night he shared with his sensei and the 3 little words that were whispered to him in between the sweet nothings.

I lay there listening to the rain pattering on the roof tiles thinking over the night. Kakashi lay there beside him sleeping peacefully with his arm slung over my chest lightly snoring. I wondered to myself how he could sleep there like that after saying those words to me, those three little words. How could it be so easy to say those words when we could die tomorrow or the day after or the day after that? It confuses me. Rolling over to look at his unmasked face I raise my hand and run it along his cheek to his slightly parted lips. Seeing him like this so vulnerable and beautiful laying by my side I realise that yes, it can be so simple to say those words when there so true. Leaning up to plant a peck on his lips I whisper those sweet words back to my sleeping lover. Though I didn’t expect the arm around me to tighten and pull me closer, then to whisper back in my ear.

“I know.”
