Leith Shadowheart and Midnight

Leith stood on a path way leading to the castle, she was dressed beautifully in a black gothic looking gown with a colorful mask on her face that made you instantly drawn to her face. Her mystic eyes looked to the castle that glittered magically in the moonlight. She cursed in her mind, already regreting getting the invite to the ball. 'Why would they ever invite me? Maybe this is a test to find out if I'm an evil witch...' she thought with slight anger. Her hair was usally put into neat braided pig tails but, tonight it was done up in a beautiful up do. It was neatly knotted with some of her hair, leaving the rest of her magical looking hair to hang down in all its silky length.
Her eyes drifted down to look beside her at a cat that had just meowed at her, it was Midnight, her familar cat; a cat that was known for popping in and out of place seemingly magically. She looked at him with soft eyes that showed a great bond between her and this cat, maybe too close of a bond. "Alright Midnight... I guess its now or never... Time to throw myself to the wolves..." she said softly to the black cat and Midnight meowed back at her, as if to try to reassure her. By 'wolves' she ment the men of the court, she wasn't really good around handsome guys, she got shy and a little clumsy.
She patted against the pathway soon reaching the castle, at which point she delicately walked up the steps, handing one of the gaurds her invitation which she had been holding in her right hand. The gaurd looked it over, eximining every detail then finally reaching the royal seal, he looked up at her and smirked at her like she was some fancy china that someone had thrown out because the design had faded too much. Course this made her feel horrible, she bit her tongue though resisting the urge to wish a thousand curses on this gaurd for looking at her in such a manner.
