Guess what? Well we showed what we did in August. And guess what the month August means for us? It's the... "Buwan ng Wika!!!" razz

Well mostly the theme is about appreciating your own language. And I'd like to add that it is also about respecting other peoples languages as well. After all, the Phillipines itself has 76 (or is it 77?) dialects excluding one. And I won't tell you which one!!! razz And besides I love to learn about other languages like Nihonggo, French, Mandarin, Other Filipino Dialects, Latin... hmmm... Italian, Spanish and maybe Korean. emo Guess I have a long way to go before I master all of that. But hey, if Rizal did it I can do it to! sweatdrop my hunt for knowledge might kill my brain but what the heck!!! I'll master my first two (Filipino and English) and learn more on my third (Nihonggo) before I start learning other words. But... I want to learn Latin know!!! xd I am so doomed.

Anyways, this week we presented the thing we were practicing. I woke up at 7:30 AM at weekENDS but I had to do it for the class!!! xd

We were all stressed out. Some of us had uneven schedules so some couldn't make it. The others were horsing around and some was just plain bored and lazy. And a lot was late. (Ehehehe including me... xd ) And there were certain... things... that happened. :ehem: redface sweatdrop So at the last practice we were all thinking that we were going to be in the third place and there are only 3 classes so that's the last place. So we were all sad because if we just got on to the second place we will get a plus in our Filipino Grade this quarter. Not to big mind you just a small teeny tiny plus but to others it could save their grade...

Before the performance we still found the time to laugh and smile. 3nodding blaugh In fact, I think I wasn't nervous at all!!! I was just thinking as long as everyone gave their best we'll be a bit happy. We found the confidence to cheer for ourselves and for others. Joking around that we were going to lose or how cute the others were and how cheerful snd energetic the boys were. We shouted one last confidence in winning and off we go. cool

We were the last class to present and I was thinking that we have some small hope in getting second place. Just the second and all of us will be happy. So we performed and I think we did well. When they were going to announce the places I felt weird all of a sudden. I felt content a bit but still hungering for something. When they said the third place wasn't us WE were the one who was jumping for joy!!! We were all shouting "Second Place!!! Second Place!!!" pirate We eventually quited down and anxiously waited for the announcement. The judge said something and I didn't quite catch it. I was confused for a moment but my classmates reactions said it all. The boys were shouting, the girls were crying, others sat as if they were stunned and most of them were shouting and jumping. stare

It clicked, we... WON!!! eek surprised The judge said the other class and the only remaining class to get the 1st place was... US!!! When the real words fell from the judges lips. I jumped. Joy was in my face. People were hugging each other. Our advisor was shaking our President's hand. Our treasurer took the prize and he was grinning. The boys were playing joyfully. Girls were shrieking in delight. xd It was a blissful moment even if it was full of noise but this was a different kind of noise for me. It was a united noise and that is better than different noises joining together and forming one great and evil noise. But this wasn't evil, this was happy!!! The other classes looked at us in disbelief. But they recovered and congratulated us. Some even admitted they thought we were going to get the last place. Well, one of the things we alaways say, never over estimate and under estimate. 3nodding

Guess, you shouldn't underestimate language as well. Because of it we express, communicate and in things like this... it unites us and I feel closer to my class this year. biggrin Guess I just needed this kind of experience for me to stop being a loner, right? whee wink Thank you so much everyone.
