it occurred to me today that i have no idea where the whole concept of netiquete came from. the internet has been around for roughly 20 years (going back to the dark-ages of networking with DOS). but i'm sure as many people reading this (and by many i mean 1 or 2 ppl lol) might be aware of, the internet was originally designed for use in the US military as a form of communication, well either they're just stupid or it was the conspiracy planners day off or somethin, but the internet got out to the public. and after these many years what are we left with. short abbreviations of sentences, strange non-sensical phrases, and of course these non-existant celebrity figures or phrases. now the abbreviations i can understnad, by which i mean shortening "laugh out loud" to simply "lol", or "be right back" to "brb" thats understandable in the sense that people would want to type less while sending a message but still have someone understand what they're saying.

but here's what baffles me ladies and gentleman, out of all this, this wonderful virtual world we have created, where did s**t like shoop da whoop and ***** come in? it just seems so random to me. what kind of mentallity would you have to have to create such random and off characters? shoop de whoop, a random face that appears out of nowhere and shoots energy out it's mouth, or ***** a random teddy bear that happens ot be a exactly whats its name suggests.

or the phrases for that matter. many famous terms used on the internet are famous pop-culture references. "THIS IS SPARTA!" from 300, or "OVER 9000!!!" from dragonball Z. i just wonder out of this entire virtual information super-highway that we humans have created from scratch, where does all this s**t come in? who coined it? what kind of mind do you think these people must have??
