Chapter 8

Virgo slumped down panting greatly looking at the battered and unconscious body of Taurus. He had defeated him but with great difficulty. Taurus was never that durable before. What could have changed in such a short period of time?

Virgo walked toward Libra’s tired form and set her against his back and she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Come on young one. Let’s go find our other friends and then get out of here”

He started walking then heard a giant explosion. He stopped in his tracks eyes wide Libra now fully awake. “What was that?” she whispered. Virgo shook his head running now worried for his friend’s lives.

The ball room was gone now. It had been demolished by the combatants within. The windows were shattered, floor cracked, the paintings torn to pieces. The only one that remained that was the portrait of the twelve of them an ironic piece in the circumstances.

Gemini was on the ground panting hard his sword clutched in his bleeding hand. Clanging and clashing rang as Leo and Cancer still fought hard. Gemini sucked in a large breath and got to his feet running at Cancer again.

Capricorn watched him do that from atop the chandelier of the room. He blinked quickly then jumped as Aries landed beside him thrusting his spear. Capricorn landed on the wall and leaped back his claws outstretched grabbing the spear with both hands. Aries ducked down and threw him away sending him crashing into the ground.

Leo swung her claymore hard and Cancer jumped over it thrusting his sword into her side. Gemini blocked his blade with his own shoving him back. He jumped forward keeping the pressure on him his sword swings getting more and more erratic. Cancer smirked and smashed his blade from his hand sending it skidding against the ground.

Gemini shouted and charged at him again. Cancer shook his head and lunged forward. His eyes widened in surprise as Shiro held the blade against his side bleeding from his arms. Kuro jumped from behind him sword raised murder in his eyes. “Die Cancer!!!” Kuro shouted swinging their blade down on his head. A loud crack rang out and he opened his eyes in surprise.

The blade of his sword was stopped inches from Cancer a swirling mass of water. He smirked and swiped his blade sending Gemini crashing into the ground his sword skidding away. He looked up at Cancer who stood over him shaking his head.

“How did you do that?” Gemini growled. “You’re powers were different”

“That just goes to show how little you know” he said raising his sword. “But before I send you to oblivion let me tell you one thing. “You have far more powers then you could ever know”

He thrust his blade down and Gemini closed his eyes waiting for the blade to tear through him. It never happened and when he opened his eyes he saw why. Water was swirling around him preventing the sword from reaching him. The same thing was happening to Leo and Capricorn.
Before Gemini or Cancer could speak the spheres began to glow brightly and in a flash they fell apart staining the ground with water. Cancer looked around.

All of them were gone. He held his forehead and started laughing to himself. “Well played my friend. Well played indeed. Very well. The move is yours next. I await your return”
