Chapter 9

Gemini opened his eyes a slit after falling asleep. He couldn’t remember what happened after the flash of light that saved him. He sat up rubbing his chest and back. Bandages stretched all around his body and arms. He nodded slowly remembering the wounds he had suffered.

“Gemini you’re awake” He looked up to see Capricorn who looked more like a mummy then himself. “Thought you were out for good”

Gemini shook his head as he looked at the place they were in. This was Zodiac Forest. It stretched around the castle and stood proud. The trees were long and full of green leaves letting the sun in only where they parted. He saw Libra and Virgo walking through the forest waving to them when they came.

He couldn’t see Leo but he knew she was nearby probably waiting for him to wake up. Now that he had she was going to do what she wanted. “Cap do you know how we got here?” he asked standing up slowly.

He smiled widely and laughed. “You’ll have to see for yourself” He rose an eyebrow and felt a tap on his back.

“Excuse me I believe this belongs to you” Gemini turned around and saw his eagle blade sword. He nodded about to say his thanks then stopped. The hands and arms that held it were smooth and pale. They led up to someone a little shorter then himself wearing a long sky blue dress her silvery hair reaching her waist. It reached her feet but her ice blue eyes were warm as she smiled at him. “It’s been a long time Gemini”

Gemini hugged her tightly his sword clattering against the ground. She hugged him back smiling as Gemini smiled back. “I missed you Aqua”
They stayed together in each others arms for several minutes before Gemini let go smiling hesitantly.

“Aqua…what happened to you? We went to rescue you but you weren’t there. Cancer made is seem like you were dead”

She sighed shaking her head. “That is someone I have never understood and I desperately wish I could. First off Gemini for you to understand what transpire you have to understand a fact. Our powers and abilities are growing. You may have noticed that when you fought Cancer”

Gemini blinked as the memory of his sword striking the wall of water that protected Cancer. “Yes I think I know what you mean”

“Yes” she nodded her head. “Cancer has gained a new level a power. A level that all of us can attain” Gemini’s eyes widened at that.

“What do you mean?” he asked very interested. She smiled.

“It would be easier to show you but not through my own powers” she looked past him as Leo walked toward them arms bandaged and eyes showing eagerness not seen before.

“Leo would you mind?” she asked.

“Not at all” she replied staring at Gemini. “Roar, Leo!” she shouted the strength flowing through her. She breathed slowly and opened her eyes the irises glowing gold. “Leo, Survive!” with the second command the gold in her eyes glowed brightly. The air crackled with power but it’s source was unknown to him.

Gemini widened eyes returned to normal as he watched her. “Leo…what did you just do?” he asked curious since no change was obvious on her

“This is the power Leo gained during her fight with Aries” Aqua said as Leo clenched her fist. “Her strength is now more then just physical. It will now let her overcome any wound and continue to fight. It can even ignore a wound that would kill a lesser man aside from her head being cut off”

Gemini slowly grinned at this. “So you mean we can all use powers like this?” She nodded holding her hands behind her back. “Excellent! With this fighting Cancer will be way smoother”

“Hold on Gemini” she said stopping his plans. “It’s safe to assume that all of the zodiac on Cancer’s side can do the same. We are at a very big disadvantage”

Gemini nodded shoulders slumping. “Then how do we gain that power?” he asked trying to keep hope in his voice. She smiled again

“Train with each other. The way to gain it is different for every person but for you it may be easy. You and Capricorn can both fight together and gain it. It is the best way I can think of at the moment”
Gemini nodded.

“At least we do have a plan” he went to turn to Capricorn then paused. “Wait. You’re escape. You used your power didn’t you?”
She nodded at that.

“I did. During the months of being held in those dungeons I learned the ultimate control over water. With it I was able to transport myself anywhere there was a great body of water. The same way I rescued you in fact”

Gemini nodded. “I’m happy you escaped. With the six of us we have a chance. I can feel it” He walked into the center of the clearing letting the sun shine on him and turn into Kuro and Shiro. “Well you heard the lady” Shiro said to Capricorn.

“Let do this!” Kuro shouted leaping at him sword in hand Shiro behind him. Capricorn grinned and dashed at them both kicking his foot out blocking his sword.

Shiro leaped off his back slashing down. Capricorn caught it in the palm of both hands and back flipped throwing him into the ground. “You’ll have to do better than that!” he taunted. He leaped in the air and spun “Kick, Capricorn!” he slammed the heel of his foot into Shiro’s head and sent him flying into a tree making it fall to the ground with a loud crash.

He landed softly bouncing on his feet looking at Kuro. “You’re next” Kuro grunted getting to his feet swinging his sword around behind him to his next hand. Capricorn dashed at him faster then his eyes could track and kicked him clear across the field. “Still got a ways to go”

Pisces walked down the heavily decorated halls of Zodiac castle frowning and yawning at the same time. He walked past several soldiers and servants bustling to their duties. He walked to a double door room and opened it stepping through.

At a long wooden table the five zodiacs waited for his arrival with Cancer at the head. Aries and Taurus on the left. Pisces and Sagittarius on the left and Scorpio on the end. “Well now our meeting can begin my friends” Cancer said smiling smoothly at them all. “Pisces your report”

“Yes Lord Cancer” he said standing up. “Our last report showed several resistances uprising in the north and east. As far as sources say they are but trivial matters and were easily contained. The more disturbing fact however is the appearance of several of the zodiac at them. Mainly Leo and Gemini. We believe they are the ones how are starting them but we have failed to catch them”

There was a murmur of dissent among the assembled. Cancer nodded his head slowly. “Yes they could become a problem if we allow them to continue as they have. Do we know of where they are now?”
“No but we can predict where they will show up next” he said pulling a map from out of his back pocket. He unrolled it pointing to a small red X on a village. “It is here where we believe they will make their next move”

Cancer looked at the map carefully then nodded. “The village of Greyhara” he said absent mindedly. Before he could issue an order a loud screech echoed off as a chair was pushed back.

The owner of the chair had long black almost purple hair. His eyes were slanted and sinister matching his grin. Aries sat up instantly glaring at him “Where do you think you’re going-“he was cut off by a blade slicing through the wood of his chair just beside his neck.

“Shut your trap Aries” he growled then looked at Cancer. “I’m going to take care of them” he told them glaring and grinning ahead. The back of his jacket flowed back a purple scorpion on his back. The door slammed shut as Scorpio left the meeting.

“Lord Cancer no disrespect but do you think it was wise to let Scorpio go on his own?” Sagittarius commented. Cancer chuckled softly.

“Not to worry. Scorpio may be violent but he is loyal to the strongest and he knows that is me” he chuckled again. “He has the scars to prove it. But still Pisces I want you to trail him and make sure he doesn’t kill our Gemini or Leo”

He hesitated but nodded and followed after him shaking his head. Leo. I sincerely hope your group doesn’t find Scorpio. You may earn more then just wounds this time.
