Imagine your life is a hallway.
You're there in this hallway, you have no idea why, and you feel lonely and scared. There are other people walking in the hallway, both directions. You're in the middle so you have to pick a direction to walk. Do you follow the majority, or go in the less popular direction? You start to walk along, all the while you feel lost. "Where am I going?" you think to yourself, "What's at the end of this hallway?" You walk along anyway.
Along the way, there are many people who pass you going the other way. The only people you can see going your way are just in front of you. You turn around to see that just as many people are following you. "How crowded," you think, "Why are there so many people in this hallway?"
As you walk, you pass the people who were in front of you, but there are even more just ahead. "Seems like I'll never get to the front of the line."
The people in front of you stop suddenly, so you decide to go around them. When you turn around to look at them, the look sad. "I guess they gave up," you decide. You think about stopping for a rest yourself, but decide you should keep on.
You come up to people who walk at your pace. You meet with them, talk with them, walk with them, but it doesn't last very long. You move on without much hesitation.
The hallway comes to a fork. On one side, the people you were following continue, on the other side the people going the other direction are coming in. "Looks like nobody is going in that way," you notice. "It looks like it'd be too hard to go against that crowd." You continue the way you were walking.
Walking, walking, walking... You walk so far that you can feel yourself aging. "I've come so far," you think. "Where's the end of this hallway?"
So what is at the end of the hallway of life? No one lives to tell.
