*neopets application story*
(yeeah wut the title says since no one goes on no one will be reading this crying )
“Mystery sweetie, it’s time to wake up” my mom’s gentle voice called out. My eye’s slowly opened up to the light sun on my face. The sun shone so powerful on me I had to close my eyes again. I let out a light yawned and got to my feet. My paws stretched down on the dirt filled ground and my neck cracked. The sun was shining down on me, it made the leaves on the tree’s glisten with beauty. A light wind passed every now and then, the wind made the trees move, they looked like people dancing with grass skirts. I chuckled at the thought.
“Someone had a good rest I’m guessing.” my mother said. She was such a pretty women, her grey fur sparkled under the sun, even with that scar on her face she was a beauty. The scar that went straight from above her eye right down to her neck. I stared at the scar and a flash of memory entered my head. The memory made me close my eyes and almost cry.
“Jade, get over here right now!” my father’s booming voice filled the woods. Trees shook and my mom crawled over. I hid behind a tree and watched in fear as my father and the rest of his pack waited for my mother to come over to them. When my mother looked him straight in the eyes he snarled. “You little pathetic women! You think you can just order the rest of the pack to go hunting? That’s my job!” he barked. My mother began to shake, “They were in need of food! You wouldn’t move though because you thought there would be a storm! Well the storm never came Daniel! It never did! They would have starved!” my mother pleaded. My father rose on his two back legs and extended his claws as his paw went straight across my mom’s face.
Her eyes bulged out as blood splattered out of her deep cut. My father who had full black fur shook his head in disappointment. “This is what happens when you don’t listen to me. Got that?” everyone behind him in the pack nodded slowly. None of them had any sympathy for my mother, or any expressions. As long as it wasn’t them, they will not care. My mother laid on the floor crying hard, my father simply spat on her. I felt the anger start to ¸my face began to feel hot. My vision became blurry. Though even with my anger at it’s limit, I didn’t do nothing but cry.
My father turned and faced me, “Boy men don’t cry. Your pathetic like your mother!” he yelled. “I hate you!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. He growled and walked over, “Don’t you dare talk back to me!” he screamed. Before I could see anything happening my father’s huge paw came slashing down at me, but it didn’t touch me at all. My mother stood in between my father and I, she stood trembling. His claws were inside her back, she trembled uncontrollably fast. “G-get out of here now Daniel. Now.” She said her voice shaking. My father scoffed, and turned around. He walked away with the pack right behind him, and like that I never saw him again.
“Sweetie, Mystery pay attention!” my mom’s gentle voice brought me back to reality. It took me two blinks to realize my feet were moving, when did I start walking? “Mystery, are you alright?” my mother asked. “Where are we going?” I asked ignoring her question. “I told you, to look for food…” she replied, a bit angry I didn’t answer her. With a nod I began to look around. Searching for food with no pack was probably the hardest thing for a wolf.
After a few hours my mother and I decided to split up, most wolves wouldn’t dare do this but we needed food and there was only two of us. I went to the upper right part of the woods, where according to some animals around here was ruled by an evil thing. Ridiculous am I right? I was in no rush, it was still daylight out. I took soft steps while walking, the dirt kept going between my toes. It was a funny feeling. As I kept my pace to a slow jog a bunny nearby caught my attention. I hid behind a tree and watched it daringly. It looked worried, as if it was looking for someone. The worst part about being wolf was that we had to kill to eat. I hated to kill, but I had to live. My paws stretched out and I began to pounce the little rabbit. When I got her with my claws she screamed and began crying.
The guilt quickly got to me and I let her go, my claws had left a cut in her side. “Sir please, just end me…” she began to plead. My eyes grew big, “What? D…Don’t you want to live?” I asked confused. She shook her head slowly, “That big evil dog is already after me. Please just end me…: she pleaded again. “What would a dog be doing in the woods?” I asked still curious. She began to shiver, “Ayame… The all mighty Ayame. She’s going to destroy everything in the forest… Please end me!”
“It’s just a dog, what could be so strong about a dog?” this rabbit was making no sense. “She’s not just a dog, she the ice godess! She has the power to make the whole world into an ice age… She and the rest of her group… Freeze, Ice, and Aqua… Please save yourself… “ was the bunnies final words before she hopped off into the woods. It wasn’t long till I heard her scream, and a couple of other wolves around. Her scream traveled through my ears and made me flinch. Nature’s so deadly…
Now about this dog Ayame, what exactly was going on? Was she the evil thing everyone was talking about? So many questions yet none of them answered. All of a sudden my urge for food disappeared. I decided to go back to my mother to talk about this more.
I quickly ran back to the den where my mother and I lived, “Mom you back yet?” I yelled. No answer. I began to get fidgety, I ran to the direction where my mom headed. What made me stop, was something no boy should ever have to hear. A screech that made me heart skip a beat filled the area, my ears dropped low and tears filled my eyes. My mother yell of pain made me paralyze in fear.
As soon as it started it ended, then there was silence. My breathing slowed down and I couldn’t think. When the fear moved on to panic, I began to run. Running, and not a thought flying through my head. It was awhile before my brain began to function again. I was almost in the lower left side of the woods where my mom took directions. Then I saw what every kid dares not to see. My mother on the floor not a single movement, not a breath escaping her. Blood ran down her head into the rest of the bloody puddle.
I couldn’t swallow, my throat was too tight. My beautiful mother, her silver fur now covered in nothing but red icky goo. My vision became dull, colors no longer made the forest alive. Everything now was grey, a black hole of nothing. “Ha, little boy. Is this your mother on the ground next to me?” said a voice. Next to my mother was a huge icy colored dog like creature. She looked like God’s worst fear.
“Aw, did I do away with your mommy?” she whispered then laughed. Laughed and everything in the world became weak objects. I felt small, very small. I didn’t know what else to do but nod. She laughed again, “Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Ayame. I am the ruler of ice, anyone that defies me shall die. As for your mother here that’s just what she did, she refused. Plus she’s a wolf. Since you are her son, you are probably just like her. You must die.” She said calmly before forming an ice sphere in her hands. This was unbelievable! The world’s colors started to come back as soon as she released her sphere.
This was it, born to die I thought. The sphere was so close to hitting me, I could already feel it’s chills go down my neck and spine. But it never reached me, something heated hit the ice sphere back. A fireball shot right out at it, the ice sphere melted. I stood in amazement as three other wolves popped out. One who’s fur was all black then at the middle of his forehead laid flames sticking out, and at his feet the same. Another who’s fur was pure blue with lightning designs along it. Then last, which looked like the leader who only had simple yellow fur.
“Leave this poor wolf alone Ayame!” yelled the one with flames. “Ha ha, even if I did leave him alone he would die with the rest of this forest in a matter of seconds.” said the huge dog like monster. The yellow one growled, “Why is that?” he barked. “In a matter of seconds, Aqua is going to set off an ice bomb that will send this pathetic land into an ice age forever!” she began to laugh so hard ice flowed around her. I was so confused.
The yellow furred wolf snarled and looked at the blue furred one. The both nodded, “Jay grab the pup and let’s get out. There’s nothing we can do…” he said. The fire one nodded and grabbed me by my neck. Stunned at what was going on I let him. “Don’t worry kid, it’s okay. We are here to save you.” He muffled. I felt no emotion after that, I simply looked at my mother on the ground and all the colors of the world faded once more. Air began to brush across my face, the wolf carrying me was jumping through the tree’s fast.
It took about twenty minutes before we were in a totally different place. The wolf put me down and introduced himself and the others. “My name is Jay, and this is Lucifer and Volkner” he said pointing to the blue one then the yellow. Weak I just nodded. Volkner sat down, “about five seconds till those woods are frozen.” he said. No longer than five seconds later was he right. A quick brush of chill flew by us all. The woods were now a frozen waste land. Lucifer hanged his head down. “My mom…” was all I said before breaking down and crying. All three wolves frowned and looked at me.
Jay walked over and stood in front of me high and tall, “Kid, you are going to become a part of our pack now. We are going to revenge your mother… We are going to destroy Ayame.” He said gently. Even with tears filling my eyes I could see the light promising smile that slowly appeared on his face. This is where I belonged now, this was my pack. I will avenge my mother.
