I just read an interesting passage in the biography of Douglas Adams that basically says that Humans spend their lives so busy worried about how integral they are to everything else that they never see the big picture, of which we are only a tiny micro-pixel.
While this is nothing new to me, it illustrated it very well, using a puddle as the metaphor for humanity. The puddle, stirred into sentience for who knows what reason, notices how perfectly it fits the rock it sits in. Could it be consequence? Certainly not! It's too perfect. It spends so much time congradulating itself on what a necessarry part of everything it is that, as the sun dries it up out of existence, it never notices anything beyond itself. The book's version is written better, but I'm too lazy to reproduce it here.

On a seperate topic, I've become obsessed with creation recently. By this I mean me creating things, not the whole philosophical, often religious concept. I spend a large chunk of my time writing, drawing, making comics, and working in rhino. I must say, though, I'm proud of myself for finally doing something instead of sitting bored waiting for someone to post. My latest idea has been to animate a comic in flash. However, considering how long it takes me to draw anything, it would be a series of still images with voices over, the pictures changing occasionally rather than a fluent animation... Wow... It's harder to describe than I thought it was...
For example, a character talking. Instead of an animation of the character's mouth moving, there would be a couple of pictures to convey movement or change of expression.
Anyway, I've gotta go. I have to go. Need to work some more on my Grandfather's Website. Ja mata.
