Life is a race,
and I'm in last place,
for I am the out-of-date lace,
the corset from past century,
the past january christmas tree,
the unsolvable mystery.
I am the plotless book,
the line without a hook,
the one quake that never shook.
I am the rock without the roll,
the bridge without the troll,
the mining missing the coal.
I am the yin missing yang,
the vampire without a fang,
the lemon lacking tang.
I could go on listing anachronisms
and strange organisms-
still going?
