As the raindrops fall, the pitter-patter sound echoing throughout the empty living room, I snuggle deeper into the couch. The wind, cold and business-like, ruthlessly blows and whistles sharply as it lets its presence be known. A myriad of emotions floods and fogs my mind like the thick mist surrounding the city. Anger, hurt, among other things repeat themselves over and over as slowly all my warmth slips away. No amount of sinking into the couch or burying underneath the covers will end the chill.

And then I dream: dream of the one who hands me a glass of red wine. I drink and wince at the acidic flavor. But warmth blossoms in me as I continue to soothe my parched throat. Bitterness aside, I am rejuvinated. I fall into the arms of the one who has invigorated me and wake up with a warm smile upon my face, feeling the intoxication of one who is in love.
