* Restrepo documentary director Tim Hetherington has been killed in Libya in a mortar attack. He was an incredibly brave and tenacious man who lived among the troops who's lives and deaths he documented in Afghanistan for fifteen months. Along with him, photo journalist Chris Hondros was killed and two other photographers wounded.

* Today, we sorted out the living room TV situation. Switching to and from DvD will be slightly less convenient, but it's worth it for the larger screen and not having to stand in front of it to read subtitles. The living room TV is now in the bedroom and hooked up to a working VCR, but I got the wrong cord for the DvD so that will have to wait. I shall try to freecycle old fashioned rabbit ear TV.
