“No… please, stop… I… I didn’t mean to talk back!” Cried the voice of the child. “NO! STOP IT! PLEASE!” But his screams did nothing. They hit him again, and burned him with fire poker. “Awww. Poor Chrissy…. Did that hurt?” Mocked one of his tormentors. “Maybe now you’ll think twice before talking back to us.” said the other. The two girls turned to leave, leaving him on the floor of the basement, chained to the wall like a dog to a pole. ------- “I don’t deserve this… Please… someone. Help me… Anyone. I don’t want this life. I don’t deserve it. Please… save me.” Chris felt the tears falling to the ground as he cried in pain, his entire body broken and battered. A different voice came through the small window on the top. “Hello? Is someone there?” Chris saw a face peek through the wall and he tried to hide fearing that it was someone coming to hurt him. The woman gasped in pure shock as the teen tried to hide but could hardly move. “Stay there… I’ll get you out.” She broke through the window and jumped down, Chris backed away in fear. “No! Please… don’t hurt me. Stay away… please. Don’t hurt me.” He covered his face in fear and heard the sound of something breaking, except it was the chains. He tried to push himself up but his strength was not there. “Don’t be afraid of me. Please. I’m here to help you. Stay still. I’m going to get you out of here.” She picked him up gently and jumped back up to the window, darted out, and ran into the forest. ------------- “Now, this is going to hurt. And I’m sorry, but it’ll clean your wounds. Okay Chris?” He remained silent. Amy had yet to do anything to hurt him intentionally. And at this rate, if it would help him feel better, it didn't matter if it hurt. It wouldn't hurt as bad as he had been hurt before. “O…Okay, Amy. I… I trust you.” She smiled lightly and started to clean him since he could hardly do it himself.
Chris felt something happen inside him. He didn't know what it was, but something was happening inside him as soon as she touched him. He had never felt a touch so gentle. He never knew what it felt like to be loved, or at least cared for, and she was showing him, aside from the harsh stinging of the cleaning, she showed she wasn’t going to hurt him. And he started to cry again as he sat in the bath. She stepped away slowly. “Am… Am I hurting you?” “N…no. It… it’s not that. I… I’ve never… had anyone treat me this way… and… I don’t know how to react.” He whispered quietly, shaking a bit from the sobs. Amy stared at him blankly for a moment before smiling gently and kneeling down next to him and gently wrapping her arms around his neck. “It’s okay… I promise. You’re safe with me…” -------- “Chris… stay here. There’s something I need to do. Okay? I promise I’ll be back. I’m not leaving you.”
The vampiress turned and ran outside, running to the town and started bringing everyone to the center of the town. “Everyone. I’ve had this recurring dream. One of an attack. An angel. Coming down and killing people. Please. Any family with children, I pray that you leave and go somewhere new. Somewhere safe. Here, it’s not safe. It’s soon. Please. At least send your children somewhere else so they don’t be affected by this. Heed my warning…” ---------------- Amy stared at Chris intently. He knew something was wrong. “What’s going on? Why are you looking at me like that?”
“… They’re looking for you. I’ve taught you a bit how to fight, but… Chris… this isn’t a matter of if they find us… but when. And when they do… they’ll probably kill me. Chris, promise me this… please. Promise me that you will live. Promise that you will live… Okay?” Chris was about to respond, when the door was broken down and the two of them were attacked. Next thing he knew, they were being dragged through the forest back towards the town. ------------- “This girl is a traitor! She’s been helping our mortal enemy; this angel! She’s been giving him our secret information, helping them prepare for an attack! She deserves death for her actions!” The crowd surrounding the two cheered wildly, believing the propaganda spewing from one the female’s mouths. One of the females from before walked over to Chris with a sadistic grin. “Make sure to watch now. It’ll be your last chance to see her.”
“No… NO! Don’t kill her! Please! Take me instead. She doesn’t deserve it!” He started struggling violently with those restraining him. “Get off of me! LET ME GO!” He screamed harshly at them. He managed to break away from the people holding him back. He wanted to save her just like she had saved him the month before. But just as he was right next to her, he saw a sword being shoved into her back and the blade exit out her stomach. She fell to the ground. Chris kneeled down next to her for a moment. “Amy. Please… say something!”
“… L…Live. You… have to live.”
Chris shook his head. “No… Not without you. I can’t live. You…”
“You… can do it… promise me… it’ll… make me happy…”
She fell limp, laying on the ground bleeding. He saw the others spreading gasoline on her and lighting a match and flicking it, igniting the fire as he was dragged backwards. “No. No! NO! NOOOO! What did she do to you?! Why did you kill her?! SHE DID NOTHING WRONG!” He fell to his knees sobbing. The people holding dropped him to the ground, figuring he wouldn’t be able to do much else at this point. His entire body was shaking. He looked up and saw one of the people holding the sword that was used to kill her. And at that moment, he snapped. His sorrow immediately turned in to pure rage. He charged at the person and grabbed the sword from their hand, using it to kill them. “I’ll ******** kill you all. I SWEAR I WILL ******** KILL YOU!” He felt his strength multiply exponentially and his rage skyrocket. “I’m not the coward I once was. I won’t sit back and let you torture me any longer. I’ve had it! I’ll kill you all! I’m done doing nothing! And it’s time I take my revenge on you ********. I’LL ******** KILL YOU ALL!” He started to fight, tearing down everything in his path. People screamed. People ran. People died. He had one goal in mind: to find Estraphor and Zatianah; the main holders of the Royal Family for the Vampires, and kill them.
After many people dying, he stared in the face of pure evil; of sadism at its worse; of those whose sole purpose was to cause him pain in any way, shape, or form. “You… Zatianah… Estraphor. You hit me. You kicked me. You burned me with chemicals, fire, electricity…You’ve cut me, you’ve stabbed me… you’ve taken the one person who ever showed me love away from me. I swear. You two ******** are going to suffer. I WILL KILL YOU! IT’S YOUR TURN TO FEEL PAIN!” The next thing he knew, he was walking out of the building, out of the town and into the forest, no shirt, ripped, blood stained shorts and nothing but a huge blaze behind him, hardly remembering anything of what he did to the two vampiresses. “I… I… will live. I promise. If it makes you happy… I swear to you I will live. I don’t know for how long. But I’ll try. With all my might… I’ll live for you.”
One week later
As night grew closer, the light from the sun faded over the forest. The sound of a gunshot rang out piercing the silence. An old man fell to the ground gasping for air as his blood ran from his stomach. “You’ve done more than enough to me, old man.” The voice belonged to a young man pointing a gun to the man’s head.
“No one should go through the pain and suffering you and your kind, put me through. You will not live to see the morn.” he said with the hatred burning in his eyes, and pulled the trigger.
“Lies… all of them are lies…” The boy gripped his weapon tightly and staggered over the dense tree line, hiding himself in the shadows. Why did I promise her I would live? Why did I make that stupid promise… that I’d live for her… when I should’ve been able to live with her. Damn them. Damn them all.
As he walked in nothing but ripped bloodstained shorts, carrying a sword and a pistol he had stolen off an assassin, it was a miracle he was even standing. He had so many burns and bruises that it looked like he had literally been to Hell and back. His battered and broken body started to tremble before he collapsed onto the leafy floor of the forest. As he looked around he noticed a WANTED poster. The poster read:

Reward: $100,000 DEAD OR ALIVE He has a tendency to tell lies and sad stories in order to trick people. DO NOT BE FOOLED! HE WILL MURDER YOU!
“DAMMIT! ... Lies… all of them. LIES!” he shrieked.
“I’ve… gotta make it to the house. I won’t survive another night out here.”
Up in the distance, about a mile away, was a tattered building. It’s about 5 miles to the nearest outlet into the city. “Dammit. I’ve still got a while to go… I can’t… walk much farther…” He gripped the nearest tree with his good arm and slowly pulled himself to his feet. “Please… let me get home…” He mumbled under his breath. Using his sword to keep his balance, he stumbled towards the house.
