MVCRPG Battle System and Other Game Mechanics
-------------------------
The Basics of Battle

Battles can be very short or very long, it all depends on healing factors and
the character's health. The amount of health of character can vary. Another
important part of battles is SP points. These determine when and what powers
you can use. One-Sixth of your SP points recharge each turn; use your powers
wisely! Don't spend all your SP points in one turn unless you know
for sure that your enemy will be defeated! You can also dodge dodgable attacks
by rolling the dice. If you roll an even number, you will dodge an attack!
The actual battle starts with the Gamesmaster deciding what the enemy will do
for the current turn, he/she won't tell anyone, just himself. Next the players
will decide what they are going to do for that turn, they will tell the GM.
What the GM decided and what the players decided will merge and will become
a round, much like a comic book panel. The GM will tell the players what's
going on now (by repeating the players decisions and the enemy decisions in
succession. It's pretty much Players VS GM.) Here's an entire round as an example:
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
GM: Alright guys, Ryu and Wolverine enter the Shadoloo control room and they find M.Bison and Magneto there waiting for them.
GM: There are 3 goons guarding them.
GM (thinking): I will make M.Bison use his (Cackle) power which increases the overall SP of any major character on his side by 3.
GM (thinking): Now that Magneto's SP is increased by 3 I will use his (Fly) power to fly up into the air so Ryu and Wolverine cannot get to him.
GM (thinking): All 3 goons will attack Ryu.
GM: Have you guys thought of your moves?
Player playing Ryu: I'll do a Hurricane Kick, taking out any goons that try to get to me.
Player playing Wolverine: I'll do a Berserker Barrage towards M.Bison and Magneto.
GM: It's Battle time baby!
GM: Magneto prepares for battle by flying up to the ceiling as the duo enters the control room. "Where is Ken, Bison?!" Ryu said. Bison (Cackled) as 3 Shadoloo goons charged at Ryu.
GM: Ryu did a Hurricane Kick, dealing 50 damage and killing each of the goons. Wolverine does a Berserker Barrage towards M.Bison and Magneto, M.Bison was (Cackling) and he was hit.
GM: Magneto was airborne and Wolverine did not hit him. M.Bison was weak to Slashing (not really but for the sake of the example) so 80 damage to M.Bison.
GM: Remaining Enemies: 2 Enemy Health: M.Bison: HP - 120/200 SP - 3/6 Magneto: HP - 200/200 SP - 6/6
GM: Player Status: Ryu: HP - 200/200 SP - 3/5 Wolverine: HP - 200/200 SP - 2/6
GM: NEXT ROUND STARTS NOW!
To Be Continued...

Special Skills

There are several different skills in this game, Fighting, Agility, Strength,
Endurance, Intelligence, Intuition, and Psyche. Fighting means how skilled
you are at Close-Quarters-Combat. The more skilled you are, the more powerful
regular attacks are. Agility is means how skilled you are things that requires
coordination. If you have high Agility, you'll be able to jump higher, run
faster, throw further, dodge missles, shoot guns really accurately, etc.
Strength means how much weight a character can lift and how hard you can punch.
If you have high strength you can pick up tanks and knock off someone's head
with your fist, and other things like that. Endurance means how long you
can hold your breath underwater and stuff. A normal human character can hold
his/her breath for 3 turns. Intelligence means how smart a character is and
his/her ability to think logically and use complicated equipment. A character
with high intelligence is skilled and repairing and inventing machines. Psyche
means how strong your willpower is. This also affects characters with psychic
abilities and magic. These skills are ranked from Feeble to Unearthly to Class X.
(Class X is god, if you enjoy playing fairly you will never see this rank.)
_________________________________________________________________
Feeble - Far below average human ability
Poor - Below average human ability
Typical - Average human ability
Good - Above average human ability
Excellent - Olmpic ability
Remarkable - Limit of natural human ablity
Incredible - Enhanced human ability
Amazing - Highest rank possible for anything considered human
Monstrous - Beyond the realm of humanity
Unearthly - The limit of human ability to describe and understand
Class X - Beyond human ability to comprehend

Weapons and Vehicles

The Gamesmaster controls the universe, anything he says goes. Gamesmasters can
leave weapons lying around like baseball bats or guns, players can use these to
their advantage. Each weapon has different stats, such as durability and power.
Vehicles apply to these rules too, but unlike weapons they have stats like the
amount of seats and reliability. Weapons can be attached to certain Vehicles.
--------------------------
Resistances and Weaknesses

Fire, Ice, Energy, Mental, Electric, Piercing, Crushing, Poison/Illnesses,
Slashing, and Radiation. These are damage types. Characters can either be immune or weak
to these damage types. If a character is immune to a damage type, no damage
will be done when an attack of that damage type is executed. If a character
is weak to a damage type, whatever damage that would be done to a neutral
character will be multiplied by 2.
---------------------------
Character Traits

Character Traits are your character's social skills, personality, and pretty
much anything that makes them who they are as a person. Take Captain America
for example, he only fights for justice, what's right, the greater good,
free health care, other stuff. Deadpool is insane and he talks to himself,
he has the ability to talk to the GM. Use these if you want a real RPG
experience, you ARE playing the role of a character anyway.
---------------------------
Weak Points

If you decide to attack an enemy in a certain area, like the Head or Legs,
you can deal extra damage. If you decide to attack a certain body part you'll
have to roll the die, if it lands on 1 it hits. Any other normal will be a normal hit.
Damage chart below. Of course you could skip this chart if your character
is capable of dismemberment.
____________________________________________________________________
Body Part damage
Head - 30 extra damage points
Arm* - Arm is disabled for the next turn
Leg* - Leg is disabled for the next turn, will have to limp around.
Throat** - Will have to go into Life or Death mode, unless throat is slit.
* - Must roll the die twice and get a 1 twice.
** - Must roll the die thrice and get a 1 thrice.
____________________________________________________________________
--------------------------
Life or Death Mode

So you lost all your health points? You must go into Life or Death Mode.
It's simple, you can either go into a "Dying" mode where you cannot do anything
but you can be healed, go into "Incapacitated" mode where you cannot move or melee attack,
but you can be healed and cast spells and use Mental attacks if have you have any*, or you
can drop dead. If you die, allies can use Reviving items on you. *SP points are not recovered
during incapacitated turns.
---------------------------
Items and Character Points

You might run across a Supply Box or a Shop during your adventures.
These might carry healing items like Burgers or Sodas, or they might hold
character accessories that increase stats. For example, you could find
a revival item that fully restores all stats or a new attachment for
Rock Volnutt. In Shops (like the Xavier Academy Store or Auto's/Roll's
shop) you will need Character Points. Character Points are given to players
by the Gamesmaster. The Gamesmaster should give CP to players when they
defeat a boss (major character like Magneto) or solve a puzzle. Items normally
cost 100 CP so GMs should give players about 10 CP per Puzzle/Boss.
---------------------------
Puzzles

A map can have riddles and obstacles players might have to work together
to get past. You and your team might have to press two switches at once or something.
BUT WAIT! Those switches are on the ceiling, and only one of your team members
can fly. Maybe your tank can throw one of your light members up to the ceiling
switch while your flying guy presses the other one. Conglaturashuns! Tell your
GM to give your team some CP! These probably won't be important unless you're doing
a dungeon with traps or something.
