color race and racism
I deal with this on a daily bases from both sides of the fence. Either I'm not black enough or either I'm not white Mexican Asian etc. I have something to say about this. I'm not your color, I'm not black, I'm not white or any other race... I'm Blue, any body can be my race if they choose it. I never act different in public with people like others do. I will never treat you different because others judge me and talk about me because I hang out with you. And I will never turn my back on a friend because they are a different color than me.
With all that being said I know whats it like to be in the situation where your parents really don't approve of my color. I know the pain of being in a situation where everyone is staring at you and your guest because of his color, to hear them whispering behind your back, to make smart a** comments about your friend to your face. I know the urge to go along with the group so you aren't left out or outcasted. WITH ALL THIS BEING SAID if you have a problem tell me, if you are sad tell me. Don't leave me in the dark.... It's not like I don't see it, it's not like I don't know whats going on. I'm waiting, I've always been waiting for you to stand up.
My bother was talked about in school for being seen with white people one time. You know what he did? What believed in and did? The very next week he took a white girl to homecoming and everyone enjoyed it. Everyone eyes was open and for the rest of that year everyone one asked me is he bringing the white girl to the prom she was cool.
If you want to change something you can't do it being a coward. There have been so many times we've stood up against racism I lost count. We and our friends have stood tall for those around us. Everyone of my friends are willing to stand up against an army by themselves and say "no this isn't right". Everyone of them have stood up against their parents and other friends and said "no they are good people and my friends."
It's a different story if you say one thing and do something different. You're still being a b***h if you only say something when it's convenient.(I'm sorry, but those are the kind of people that really get under my skin. If you're going to stand up for something stand tall for it always, don't stand up when it convenient. ) With that being said this goes to all my friends (you know who you are if this applies)you're not my friend if you aren't willing to stand up against these kind of problems.
Maybe I'm getting a little to hot headed maybe this doesn't apply to any of those who this is intended for. If that's the case then you never really saw me as a friend either way we're done...
I'm not kidding when I've said I've been though all sorts of hell, so racism isn't new to me. Talk to me..... And stop being a Hippocratic
