I had an anime dream last night! Actually it was in book form. And the book wasn't Japanese, it was Korean...
Manga, Manhwa....same difference. ANYWAY. This dream was from the book "Bride of the Water God" which I am 17 chapters in and loving it. At the veeerrryy beginning, Soah gets sent off in a boat to become the wife/sacrifice to the temperamental water deity so her village's 5-year drought can end. In the dream, the send-off went rather different. Yo-hee (one of Soah's friends in the books) appeared on the lake dock to take Soah to the Water Kingdom. She introduced herself, blatantly announced that she was no mortal, grabbed Soah's hand...and the pair disappeared in a flash of light.
So it was a twist on the beginning of the story, neat huh?
