Update update update~!
Thanks to a walkthrough (Gamespot is magnificent, all hail the king of detailed walkthroughs and cheats~!), I finished the Earth temple in a little under 2 hours.
I...I'm actually quite fond of the Gnomelettes now. They're a nice little set of triplets.
Knocking down the rickety bridge that originally led to the Mithril Circlet was a bit of trouble, I kept missing the mark. But eventually, I managed to get the timing right a few times and teh bridge went tumbling to the ground, nearly killing us in the process! I saved right then and there, sucked in a mighty breath, and went ahead to Gnome's...altar. It is an altar right?
Lesse...we had that conversation about breaking another mana link. Someone, possibly Zelos, pointed out that the plan could end up a very sticky disaster if we weren't looking at things right. Lloyd shrugged and said we didn't have much of a choice. If it was going to be trouble, we'd cross that brige when we came to it.
Y'know how they talk about what spirit needs to be fought next in order to break a link? And it's Sylph? It's funny that that didn't change when we already HAD the triplets under our belt.
Right, so Gnome came out and said his bit. His way of talking is so...amusing. The fact that he's an overgrown hamster with a shovel and propeller bow made it all the funnier. Sadly, that threw me off the track for when I actually fought him.
Every one of us died at one point, some more than others. (Poor Genis, I left him out for the count because taking care of Gnome took precedence.) I forgot who landed the finishing blow (I think it was Lloyd) but after TWO AND HALF MINUTES, we defeated the sarcastic rodent. He griped a bit about having to fight four of us as opposed to just one like it had been with Mithos (who I am suddenly very jealous of...) The wind sisters made an appearance, greeted Mol- I mean Gnome cordially, and informed us that yet another link had broken. Gnome told us an earthquake was on it's way, and we booked it.
Now...we hopped on our Rheairds and zoomed off to Flanoir. Gamespot recommended I get a Moonstone and Onyx (I wish now I'd only gotten one, those things are EXPENSIVE) and suddenly I was +40K shorter than I was before. -sulks- I gave the HP booster to Lloyd and the other one to Raine. We got the recipe for...Quiche I think from the dear Wonder Chef and made our lazy way to the ice-caverns. I mentioned in my last update that I'd already finished a bit of Celcius' temple. That entailed obtaining a pair of Penguinist mitts, nabbing a Celcius Tear, and freezing the indoor lake. I haven't gotten past it yet...it's quite tricky.
I saved just outside the caves and am going to take those on tonight. -swallows nervously- I'm afraid of fighting Celcius, hopefully Sheena goes into Overlimit so I can summon Efreet on her.
