Rejoice, 'tis an update!
Okay! -rubs hands together- As promised, an update when I finished the Renegade's Flanoir base. (and then some.) I solved the annoying generator puzzle with Ryan's help. (Bless him, I'd still be stuck in the Seal of Fire if it weren't for his tips.) I had fun with the elevators, then hitched the last one up to the hangar door. smile The light of Mana is the radiance of life...it's pretty isn't it?
I shall make it my sig! xd -tries it out- Okay, maybe not...
-coughs- Ahem, anyway. Yuan met us there with another cliched line (aah, but we love him) and promptly engaged us in battle. Botta was there too, which made me kind of edgy. Not because I'd had a heck of a time with him in Triet; (THE HORROR!!) but because I didn't imagine I could fight two powerful half-elves very easily and get out alive. A walkthrough I'd been using the day before suggested I take out Botta first. Because he was weaker I suppose...frankly I fail to see what difference it makes. The Sage siblings took out Spikes without my noticing while Sheena and I focused on Yuan.
Who was really hard!! Raine supplemented us with a few healing spells and I had to give Sheena a lemon gel at one point to keep her alive. The whole battle took a minute 1/2 I think, maybe 2 minutes, leaving the bluenette to fall on his knees.
Oh yes Yuan, you're good. But I'm better. >:] I don't spend months leveling up for nothing! A truly bizarre earthquake struck, Regal urged Lloyd to take the Rheairds while we had the chance, and our party took off. Gosh I love the Rheairds! They're fast, they're easy to control, I can go ANYWHERE with them...-sighs happily-
Right, so I knew the next step was to head for the dragon's nest, but I was more eager to explore. C'mon, I just got a portable plane and you expect me to sail straight toward my immediate destination without giving those beauties a spin? Puh-leeze.
Right, so the first thing I did was sate my curiosity for the floating city of Exire. It had been floating near the Tethe'alla bridge for as long as I'd been in that world and was therefore quite easy to spot.
Silly me, never knowing that the dang thing MOVED every time you left. -grumbles-
Exire was one of the saddest cities I have ever seen. Cut off from the outside, it's inhabitants never knowing anything of what the rest of the world is like...it reminded me a LOT of Lemuria. (Lemuria is a lonely island community in Golden Sun: the Lost Age.) It probably doesn't have sickness, doesn't have war, it's inhabitants live to a great age...anyone who saw it would think the place to be a paradise.
I wandered about till I found the Sage's house, but Virginia wasn't in. -sighs- And I was really looking forward to that scene too...
Ahem, so next I flew back to Flanoir and got my first look at the city of snow. I figure I wasn't supposed to go there until Altessa got hurt, but what harm does an early look cause? biggrin I had great fun there, did some fighting to evaluate the local monster's strength (the penguinists are so adorable!), then zoomed off towards whatever city I spotted first!
Which happened to be Altamira. The city is BEAUTIFUL, and the hotel! The richness of the hotel overwhelms me!! XD
-scratches cheek- I paid for a night (cheaper than Flanoir too, what madness) and it wouldn't let me see the floors. C'mon man, what gives?!
Eh...I spent a long while exploring the available floors. The 2nd, or 3rd (can't remember which), have some very sweet stores. If you've played, you know.
Those stores would've sucked me dry if I had any less self-restraint. So glad I had over 600K...so glad. AND THEEEEEN~ we went to the amusment park! XD I was bouncing off my couch when I discovered we could actually RIDE the attractions. I'm a kid, I know...but it was so great. I just wished I'd been able to ride the roller-coaster.
I figured by now it was time to fly on to the dragon's nest and rescue Colette. A walkthrough had said "fly towards the big white thing in the sky."
"WHAT white thing?!" I roared. "I don't see anyt-" Lo and behold, there it was. Right, in front of my nose. I have NO idea why I didn't see it before.
So we flew on up to the nest of scaly beasts, got to see a neat cutscene of the Rheairds homing in (much like the Gundams sailing to earth for "Operation: Meteor" wink , and found the poor Chosen stuck in a trap that quite resembled the one Pronyma had us in on Fooji mountain. Good times, good times... Presea, brave soul, risked her well-being to destroy Colette's cage and my party then engaged in battle with a massive dragon head and her kiddies.
Her huge kiddies...
The dragon fight was really really hard, honestly, I thought the mama was gonna kill me. Her head-slammers were incredibly destructive. BUT, we prevailed. Someone hauled Colette onto a Rheaird and we booked it in time to see the nest crumble. It was glorious.
We landed in a clearing, there was an adorable scene where Presea woke up and actually SMILED, and Raine gave her consent to book it to Gnome's place. She seemed very distracted.
Then, THEN I headed back towards the temple of Earth. I wanted to train a bit after that, got lazy, finished a bit of the ice temple because I had nothing better to do...then spent a few nights searching for the bloody gorge. emotion_donotwant
I blew off training because I'd already fought the Sylph triplets and Efreet. Gnome can't be much harder. We entered, discovered the joys of a ring that makes earthquakes, and I had to abruptly turn 'round so I could save on the map. (It was 2:30 by this time and I needed to sleep. Badly.)
I'm going to play again just as soon as I take a shower~ Expect another update soon, hopefully at the end of the week. (Cross your fingers that this doesn't take me too long.)
