Here are the profiles Ive made so far. As you may notice I have made progress along the way.
~ 1 ~ So this was my first ever hand-made profile. I was aiming to get it as 'plyschie' as possible. It was my first time making something big in CSS so I put my effort into that rather than the layout and pics. It didnt take as long as I feared at first but I had some beginners-problems that I solved by myself. I also asked something in the Profile-forum and got great help from people there. I cant describe how proud I felt when I finally finished it. ^_^ (april 2006)
~ 2 ~ With the second one I felt more secure about the coding so I put more effort on the layout. I tried a different kind of theme and also challenged myself to see if I could pull off a more cute layout.. this is funny since Im not that even fond of pink. =P I tried different things with CSS as well since I feel that making profiles makes me learn more about something new. So I didnt want to get stuck in one format. Ive always been a coding nerd before, with html. (april/may 2006)
~ 3 ~ So this is my third and latest creation. Of course it was the best so far in my opinion. I took the CSS a step further again and added new things making the profile as versatile as possible. I now feel I can make about any layout I want. Surprisingly there isnt any problem I havent been able to solve yet. =O I also went nuts in Photoshop trying out effects, filters, brushes etc. to make quirky layouts. This yellow was the one I felt I wanted to evolve into a new profile. Ive lots of other layouts I can use for the future as well though. (may/june 2006)
~ 4 ~
The forth profile turned out purple. And again something completely different from my past ones. I tried making something horisontal this time. As well as playing around with the circle-shape and a lot of shadows. Simplicity when it comes to content which was both liked and not. As I was eager (as usual) to finish it I didnt take time to make the layout fit perfectly which resulted in a bit of a cramped look. =| All in all I liked this very much though. (july 2006)
~ 5 ~
This is version 5 of plysch profiles. I came up with the idea of the layout during my vacation. I was supposed to relax and keep my mind clear from orders and profiles. But I couldnt stop sketching on it when I started. I wanted to make a nice profile without having to rely on art or fancy brushes... I also worked with the body-background making the profile interesting also horisontal... I think.. I tried replacing the Gaia-links with my own images as much as possible making them look more incorporate in the graphics. (august 2006)
~ 6 ~
The 6th layout was plysch sitting on the Gaia-Earth. It was a very unlike me-profile with a lot of content which I put effort into. I hd to come think that its not only the layout, graphics and coding but also the content thats important. I wanted the viewer to get to know me and get something out of visiting the profile. I added one of my favourite recipe to spice it up a bit. ^^ I spent a whole lot of time with coding and some with graphics as well of course but since I had a lot of orders in my shop it took about one month before I could finish and update this one... =O I esp liked the hover-over buttons as well as the boxes to the right which contained both custom sections as the details. (october 2006)
~ 7 ~
The idea to the geisha-profile came when I got some lovely art from Firn the Panda. I finally had the guts to try out a more darker and oriental feeling. I seemed so far to have a bit stuck in the light and cheery mood and colors. The coding was a tough part. I worked a lot with the small details and images to decorate the different sections. Later on I think it turned out really nice and flowy. Great colors and effects but it was a bit too long and thin (narrow). I made the buttons myself with my new drawing pad. =) (january 3rd 2007)
~ 8 ~
The 8th profile was inspired by the sunset. I was able to create a fading with a setting sun that created a mood I liked very much. I based the theme out of that feeling. I once again used the art I got from Elie, I also used it in a profile seen above, I just love it so much. The buttons was my first ones animated and wasnt hard to make at all actually. I like it that they are very subtle and just sitting there glowing. As usual I didnt want any ugly scroll-bar showing. I like this profile very much but Im already working on another one... (may 16 2007)
~ Custom Profiles ~ I currently have a profile-shop which is very precious to me. Its called White Wishes and link to it is below.
What I do: + profiles working in Firefox, Netscape and IE + custom sections with headers + background layouts (I work in Photoshop and know Illustrator as well) + matching quilt-patch
I dont do: - Avatar art (provide own if you want included in profile) - copyrighted images - images from artists that havent approved the usage - flash
Other than the examples of my own profiles and the others above, I have this and then this one which I made for a friend. That one is just a pretty simple that dont take a lot of time to make. I would of course charge less for that. Its important, I think, to have different styles, price-ranges and options for each and everyones taste and pocket. ^_^
