Chapter 6
Aleana opened the door and walked inside, the man at her heels. Serenity was relaxing on the couch reading a book. She looked at the stranger. "Who's he?" she asked. "Don't know, but he knows Amory." Aleana replied. "Where is he, by the way?" "Amory is upstairs and Skitz is at the bar." The red haired man crossed his arms and shouted up the stairs, "AMORY! GET DOWN HERE NOW!" "Geez, can you yell any louder?!" Aleana asked. The man answered by giving a smile. Footsteps came from the stairs and Amory appeared. "Garron, w-what are you doing here?" "Who's the girl?" Garron wanted to know. "The girl with the dark hair." "Her name is Aleana, she's my friend." Amory stuttered. "Amory, you know you have to find..." Garron leaned closer to him, "a mate." "Mate? You mean girlfriend?" Aleana joined the conversation. Sere was over-hearing as she pretended to read the book. "Sure. Let's go with that." the red head said. The door opened and another man came in. He had gray, purplish hair and eyes the color of onyx. His age was either nineteen or twenty. His height is an inch taller than Garron. The shirt he was wearing was worn out blue that went with his worn out jeans. He sauntered over to Aleana, stopped in front of her, and eyed her up and down. He had a pleased smile planted on his face. "Your name is Aleana, correct?" he asked. Serenity tried not to laugh as the other girl gave a confused look while she toyed with her necklace. "Y-yes." Aleana murmured. The man's grin grew wide as he turned to face Amory. "She will be a perfect wife for my little brother!" "What!?" Amory and Aleana said at once. "What do you mean 'what'?" The man glared at Garron. "Did you lie to me?" Garron hesitated. "Well, uh, you see, I thought that she was-" "It's a simple yes-or-no question." "Yes, I lied." The man sighed then said to Amory, "You know you have to find a wife." "Yes sir, I know." "The next time I come back you better have a mate, Amory." He then looked at the two girls. "Have a nice day. Sorry to bother you ladies." he said as he walked out of the house. Aleana held her head and sat next to Sere. She looked up at the two boys still in the room. "Who...who are you?" she asked. "They were going to find out sooner or later." Amory said. Garron nodded. "Amory needs to find a mate before the prophecy that was put upon him is fulfilled and he becomes a murderer." "Murderer? So, you guys are the people responsible for all the killings?" Aleana demanded to know. "People of our kind, yes, but us, no." "'Of our kind'?" Serenity decided to speak up. "We're Guardians." Aleana's mouth fell to the floor. She couldn't believe this. Here they were, the Guardians, right in front of her and she didn't know it. "I'll give you a hint. They're very close." Oh, that's right, she thought, Kaitlyn gave me a hint... "My name in public is Garron, same with Amory and his name," Garron said. "Truly though, I'm Ultimate Guardian. Garron is my older brother and also Ruby Guardian. You just met my other older brother, Niall, or Mega Guardian." Aleana got it now. When Amory told her to 'go home,' it meant that he didn't want her to find out his secret. In the end, it didn't really matter, she found out anyway. "Is there another reason why Amory has to find a wife other than becoming a murderer? And I'm still confused about this prophecy thing." Serenity questioned. "Every Guardian has his or her own prophecy they have to follow," Garron explained. "Each one has one major rule to follow: to protect the world and the people living on it. To do this, we have to follow the rest of the prophecy. If a Guardian doesn't fulfill their prophecy, or becomes selfish, or is thirsty for power, they become into something called a Weapon. A Weapon kills and destroys every living thing in its way. "In Amory's case, the prophecy wants him to find a mate. He has to find a mate so that the offspring will become a Guardian and help protect the world. So, if Amory doesn't find a mate in time, he will strive for blood." Amory sighed. "But the thing is...I don't want to force a woman to have my child." He forced himself not to make eye contact with Aleana and to look at Garron. "Why'd you tell Niall?" "I thought you finally found a girl and it was Aleana. I mean, you found her in the woods and carried her all the way to the city. Plus, you comforted her last night when she was crying." "Aleana is a friend." "Just a friend? Well, maybe you're a little more than friends." Garron chuckled as Aleana went red. "Shut up, "Amory said in a low voice. He grabbed his sneakers and said, "I'm going for a walk." Then he hopped out of the house trying to put his shoes on. The house was silent for a few moments as Garron gave Aleana a grin and left. "You should really see your face, Aleana." Sere said. "They thought I was Amory's girlfriend. They thought I was going to have his child." She clenched onto the pendant around her neck. "You would be embarrassed too. I'm going to go for a walk as well." "Good luck finding Amory." Sere teased. She picked up her book and began reading. Aleana went back to the river not knowing that Amory would be there. He was staring at his reflection and whispered, "Why me?" The girl heard him but he was quiet enough that she couldn't make out the words. She silently walked over and sat next to him. "That was pretty weird back there wasn't it." She said, more statement then question. "Yes, it was." Amory was still staring at his clone in the river. There was a long pause between them until the boy asked, "Do you want to see my cave?" This time he looked at her and locked eyes. "Sure." Aleana smiled. Amory stood up, his back facing Aleana. "Get on, " he said. "What?" "Get on my back." "Uh-Okay." Amory went down on one knee and Aleana grabbed his shoulders. The boy grasped behind her knees and gold yellow wings appeared on both sides of Aleana. She looked side to side, amazed at the wings on Amory's back. "Ready?" he asked. "Yes." His wings flapped and then they were in the sky, headed towards the mountains.
