September 18, 2004. It was our first workout. It was challenging enough to make me want to quit right of the bat, but I had to go on to prove that I could take on any challenge. Anyway, we had to do a "Start and Stop" run. Let me explain. We ran hard for 5 minutes, then we jogged for 2. We did that about 8 times to utilize our full energy source. By the end of that horrendous workout, I was parched as a snake basking in the desert sun. I knew from that point on, that there were going to be countless workouts of the same calibur. So this is the essence of cross country.
