- General appearance: Long hair, wavy, usually done in loose braid. Has a beauty mark on the corner of her right eye. Infamously beautiful, smiles a lot. Has voluptuous body and wears rather revealing clothes (because Vesticordia is considerably hot), but Eoin warned her to wear stuff with more fabric when Rins is around.
SUMMARY:
Liara was born and raised in riches. Her mother was a midwife (which led her to be interested in medicinal arts), but she was taken into royal family at early age due to her beauty and was raised as a princess. She was taught politics, battle tactics, history, and ethics in the castle, and she received assassin training in her pre-teen years. She managed to become head of assassin guild at considerably early age (although this is not uncommon in Vesticordia), and was given a residence outside the castle.
Liara is an accomplished assassin, but her status as unofficial princess made her more of a passive professional and she handles more administrative side of the job. Liara trains newcomers and assigns missions on her daily life. Since assassin is the biggest military profession in Vesticordia, she’s usually very busy and can only go to socialize very seldom.
She met Eoin during his introduction as Head of Cappelonian Wizards Guild. Impressed to see such a young man to handle the office, Liara approached Eoin and soon became fond of him. After some months of sending letters to-and-fro, they became lovers.
PERSONALITY:
Cheerful, bright, thoughtful.
Liara is rarely seen without smile, and she’s famed for this. But while she’s very beautiful, she’s much more known for her great mastery over multiple skills, most notably on assassin skills and medicinal arts. She’s a highly-respected head of assassin guild, a celebrated battle-tactician, and a widely-loved princess.
She’s very affectionate and loves to display her closeness to Eoin (usually by forcing him to call her with petnames in public). And while she seems flirty due to her cheerful and friendly upbringing, she’s very committed and she loves Eoin very much.
In spite of her laid-back nature on daily life, Liara is very serious when called for. She’s very organized, logical, and responsible when doing her job. Liara is also very knowledgeable and cold-headed. Contrasting to highly-emotional Eoin (who tends to seem cool on daily life), she never lets her personal feelings disturbing her professional performance.
She’s the only character in the story to have religion. She’s devoted to Vesticordian traditional faith called ‘Movement of the Star’ which worshipped ‘the morning star’ or ‘the star of Venus’. She can be seen praying at the break of dawn.
STORY:
Human realm was raided by Underworld creatures for the second time, and when the attack commenced in Cappelone, Prince Resha sent notification to Vesticordia. Based on their knowledge, the war would majorly take place in a non-governmental territory outside Imperium, called Kahana. Prince Resha would be in charge of defending Cappelone while the official king marched to Kahana.
Liara, as one of military chiefs, was waiting for royal order on whether she’d be stationed to defend Vesticordia or march alongside of the king, when the Cappelone troop, including Eoin, arrived. She welcomed them to her manor, and eventually was granted the permission to leave Vesticordia, which she accepted gratefully for the chance of spending more time with Eoin.
Although the two had known of each other through Eoin’s stories, the march through Vesticordia was Liara and Rins’s first meeting. Liara told him that she’d ‘heard about him a lot from Eoin’s letters’ (and afterwards, would read the letters aloud, much to Eoin’s embarrassment), and Rins mentioned that she’d heard of her from everywhere. He was very fascinated by her aptitude in many things, and Liara, when seeing Rins forbade Rein from killing human enemies, was interested in how Rins raised an assassin on the path of non-violence, commenting that she ‘understands why Eoin likes him very much’ (again, to Eoin’s embarrassment). Throughout the journey, people discovered just how much they resemble one another—except for Liara and Rins themselves.
Liara never cared for Eoin’s (obvious) feelings to the king, except when it became terminal (as to when Eoin did a hunger strike during king’s depressive period). After Eoin became councilor, she remained in Vesticordia and only came to Cappelone after the second grand war which happened 4 years following the first one. She married Eoin 2 years after the conclusion of second grand war, when she’s 28 years old.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Eoin Gallead: Eoin became Liara’s lover when they’re 16 and 20. In spite of the distance and their respective busy schedules, they managed to stay in contact with one another. Eoin would sometimes teleported to her residence in his free time. Liara and Eoin are low-key lovey-dovey couple who didn’t display physical affection beyond holding hands in public, but Liara continually insisted on calling Eoin by variety of petnames and would sometimes demand one in return as well. However, the two are always seen in pair, and Eoin would run to Liara’s aid in battlefield in spite of his station. At the end of second war where Eoin fell into coma, Liara became depressed and lost her ability to speak until Rins finally came up with successful treatment.
- Maev Capitolina: Liara became Maev’s good friend during the first war, and eventual confidante during the fallout of Rins and Rein, in which Maev became frustrated with her wrongdoings and feelings. She encouraged Maev to apologize to the pair, but convinced her that it’s never wrong to feel and to fight for her feelings.
- Rein: Liara taught Rein general military ethics for assassins during the first journey, and the two sparred together numerous times. They had a little senior-junior relationship, but this evolved into something more of a cooperation as their relationship issues took over.
- Rins Invictus Exelaire: They constructed friendly affiliation based on mutual enjoyment of the teasing of Eoin, and thus would team up a lot on making him feel miserable. Liara and Rins threw flirtation to each other throughout their time together, which would freak out insecure Eoin, but the two are merely in admiration towards one another and they have no romantic feelings whatsoever.
