Baka-baka's Template for Objectives of Inscribing One's Unsystematic Contemplations and Deliberations
I think the name pretty much covers it all.
Entry the Second
Well, here we are again... in my journal. Where within' these walls lies... virtually anything I type, I suppose.

I have no idea what to entryulate about, but I want to add to it.

So, today is Christmas. Merry C-mas, ya'll. And since I don't want to stereoptype, I'm changing that statement to "Happy Christmahanukwanzaka", which I think pretty much covers all. Thank you, random cell phone commercial. 3nodding

So, I guess I'll talk about C-mas. I say "C" in place of "X" because--and though I see nothing truely wrong with "X"--it can be offensive, cause it's leaving out "Christ", which doesn't make any sense, as, His birth is the basis of the holiday anyway. And sometimes, Christmas is just a long word to write out, ya know, man? Ees like all long and stuff, man.

Wow. For some inexplainable reason, I think I was just temporarily possesed by Chich Marin. Scary.

Anyway, back to C-mas. So, it's the birth of Christ, right? I was watching this thing the other day on T.V. Okay, no I wasn't. My mom was watching it and told me about it. But anyway, apparently, according to researchers, the actual birthday of Jesus could not have been on December 25th. Because of all these little factors that played a part, and I don't remember what they were, but they pretty much narrowed it down to Him actually being born on April 17th.
And to top that off, I find this possibly even more intriguing, is that our whole calendar is actually quite faulty. I know that back some time ago, we used to have only 10 months in a year, but Julius Ceasar, who was a ruler at the time, ordered that it be changed, because the seasons were all screwed up, and came at different times each year. So, they added in 2 more months, July (for Julius) and August (for his brother[I think?] Augustus)

Now, I don't think that really has much to do with what I'm going to get at, but I thought it was interesting.

Apparently, when first designing our time system (B.C., and A.D. which, by the way, A.D.--for those who don't know--is not "After Death" as in, Christ's death, but rather "Anno Domini" which means "In the Year of Our Lord" in, I don't know, but I'm guessing Latin. Though some people refer to these as B.C.E. and C.E. for "Before Christian Era" and "Christian Era", becuase, I don't know, they found it stereotypical or something I'm sure.) There was a mistake or so. First, the guy making it apparently skipped over year 0 when changing from B.C. to A.D. I can see it now... "Oh, we're cheap, so we're going to leave the creation of a system of our entire world history that will most likely be used for the rest of time in the hands of a poor mathematician."

The next thing is, is that to find out specifically when our "Home-boy" was born, they had to trace it back to who ruled at the time. They had narrowed it down to who was the ruler of the time, but apparently, it was the guy's second reign, and in his first reign, he actually went by a different name.
So, that made a 4 year difference, and the skipping thing made a year difference, and in conclusion:
Our calendar is actually 5 years ahead of it's time. So, this New Years is not so much as the year 2005, but is supposedly 2000. So, ees like, you know, een 1995 we shoulda been havin' a fiesta for the Neuvo Año, man!!

There it is again. Chich Marin is possesing me, I swear. eek

Why hasn't this been changed? I don't know. I guess people then just ignored it, and people now already have it drilled into their heads that it is how it is. I don't know. I should research more on this probably, beforE I go ranting into something I don't have a clue about. But seriously, could you imagine if we went back to 2000 this year? What a pain een the nether regions, man!

eek Okay, that time, it was myself.

Well, you don't have to believe it, and I'm not necessarilly saying that I do either, but that that is apparently what researchers say. I just thought it was interesting. (Maybe that's just me, but I find little, strange research/theory/consiracy theories interesting...) And, I didn't quite grasp what you were saying, cuase of the typos, but I think I can make it out. And, well, I didn't think it was a bad thing to say or anything, but I understand, maybe it's not the best thing to say in a post about Christmas. But I'm not saying that Christmas is all wrong and that we shouldn't celebrate it when we do or anything. And by no means did I mean for anyone to take that offensively... so, I'd like to appologize. To Abunai, and anyone else who happens to read it, if they find themselves upset. Sorry about that. And I, myself am Christian, so I have nothing against C-mas or anything. Sorry if it was taken wrong. But on a lighter note, about the 2000 thing. See, that thing with the computers that would happen (y2k) wouldn't happen now or anything because it's set that it is 2005. See, if we decided to set our time back 5 years, then yeah, it probably would, because computers would have to be set to that time, and then that whole scare would happen again. Soooo, if people really did want to change time settings for whatever reason, it'd be best to do it in a year where your not r esetting it to 2000. Hence teh y2kness. And yes, I'm going with the times too, because if I ran around in the streets and anywhere I go, yelling to everyone "HISTORY IS A LIE, IT'S REALLY 2000!!!" I'm sure alot of people would be upset, and think I'm a nutcase. In which case I am, but I wouldn't do that anyway, because it'd be upsetting. And confusing. And then I'd be telling every teacher "Oh yeah, I put 2000 for the date on my paper because of something I saw on T.V., and it was really complex, so I'm not going to explain it." Then they'd be upset. And it's just confusing in general... I don't think I'd ever do that, even if it where true, because that's the labled time, and it's been that way, and no one's gonna change it. And, yeah. Soooo, that's another ranting I've been on for now. Hope it didn't sound offensive, cause I don't like people to be upset... and once again, I'm sorry. Gomen ne! ^-^ And Everyone have good holidays, and a teh Happinesh of New Yearsness!
