.:Shadows Casting:. -Upon an eternal heart-break-
This was originally going to be some place that I could share my poetry, but I have decided, through hard concideration, that I'm going to use it for more. Dedications, rants, poetry and just sharing things. So...read it. I think you may enjoy.
Questions of Regret

(A Normal Pain)

Beep
Beep
Beeep...
The line runs smooth.
A cold, limp body
lays lifeless atop a hospital bed.

Years of regret and pain
run softly down the face
of a weakened heart.

Why hadn't I forgiven sooner?
Why didn't I let it go?
I should have said 'I'm sorry.'
I should have said 'Goodbye.'

Beep
Beep
Beeep...
The line goes flat.
A woman's soul
flies up to heaven.

Years of pain and sorrow
run softly down the face
as she remembers
all the wonderful times
they shared together.

Why couldn't it have lasted longer?
Where did I go wrong?
I should have said 'I'm sorry.'
I should have said 'Goodbye.'

Beep
Beep
Beeep...
Your lifeline dies away...
Why couldn't we have forgiven sooner?
Where did we go wrong?
We should have said 'I'm sorry.'
We should have said 'Goodbye.'

This is a regret so many have. They wish they would have told somebody something, forgiven somebody, or said goodbye before death parted them. Life is too short to harbour ill feelings or hide wonderful feelings...life is to short not to tell somebody something important. Life moves fast...and it's confusing. In the motion of living, many people forget to tell somebody they love them...or they forget to say goodbye when hanging up the telephone. You never know what lays ahead. You don't know how long anybody has...including yourself. It's a lesson too many people learn the hard way. I hope this poem will help teach others.
