This weekend I will be gone,
doing what I do best.
I am going away,
to serve with the best of the best...

I will deeply miss you when I am gone,
but this is what I must do.
To serve the people in this country,
no matter what they do...

They may backstab me,
calling me a coward.
But they may never see,
what my real job may be...

I serve in the National Guard,
and finance is what I do best.
But just serving here with the others,
makes me feel I am the best of the best...

When I am gone do not mourn.
I will be back,
with the coming of the morn'...
