My mind is a Blank Page of College Ruled Looseleaf, but read on!

Hey. I tried to post earlier, but my message got erased because I took too long. I was trying to post because my dad took me out for my birthday present yesterday, and I just wanted to recount the exciting moments. He he. I'm only half serious. I had fun, but things didn't go as good as they could have. It started off good with dinner at a cool, funky restaurant, but then he took me out to a show, and the band we went to see absolutely sucked. But he tried. He couldn't have known they would be that bad. He just knew they were accapella, and that was off beat and wacky and totally me. So I love him for that. But now on to details. That restaurant was really cool. And he went way out on a limb on a gamble that both he and I would like it, but it worked out for the best. It was a brand new vegan restaurant/ tea house that had just opened up downtown. The food was so good. We had the vegie chili wrap, and you could not have been able to tell it was tofu either if you looked at it or tasted it. It was a wrap with lettuce, salsa, corn, blue corn chips, and then tofu chili. And it was served with humus and stone wheat crackers. The appetizer that we had, yeah you could tell it was veggie, but it had kind of a asian feng shui vibe to it. Kinda, good for the soul. It was a summer roll with like soy nuts and sprouts on the inside with this spicy curry peanut coconut funky sause that really kicked it up a notch. And the tea was awesome. A tall glass, not too strong, but it had enough flavor that you didn't need any sugar and you felt soothed. It was nice. And we were going to follow it up with a trip to my favorite Vietnamese snack shop to buy a boba tea for desert, but we ran out of time. For those of you who don't know what a boba tea is, your life is so very unfulfilled. You have got to get out and try one before you die. It's kinda like an iced coffee but sweeter and it's got these gum drop like balls suspended in it, and you suck it all up together through an oversized straw. It's so yummy and fun. If you have a Lollycup near you, that's what they sell, and also many vietnamese restaurants and specialty tea shops sell them by request. Maybe it's just that I live in Orlando, and in cultural diversity I am very privilaged, but they're fairly prevalent in Orlando. Anyway, after that we went out to the show. Doubt many of you have heard of it, but the group was Rockapella. I don't know what my dad was thinking. The only time he or I had ever heard of them was on the show Carmen San Diego, when I was a kid. Turns out they also did a gig for Folgers recently that we both had seen, but we didn't know that going into the show. He just figured it was out there and that that would be enough to please both of us. But he turned out to be dead wrong. The band stunk so bad. Not only did their singing suck, which is bad when you're an accapella group, they couldn't dance either. Between the five of them, they only had one good dancer. Bet you couldn't guess which ethnic group he was. It's true, black people are the only people in this entire world that have any sense of rythm. And gay people can't dance for s**t. I say this because I swear half or more of those band members were flamin' hot fags. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay, or not being able to dance...world takes all types, but just saying...gay=can't dance. Forget what those movies say about 70's Saturday night fever at the gay bar, it's all a sham. Oh well, why do I care, I can't dance either. LOL. Anyway, all I'm saying is it didn't add to the show. The worst part is that when the show was wrapping up, the band did like three encores. And we were forced to give three standing ovations. One would have been more than gracious. I mean, we're talking, like at points in the show, I thought I was suffering through a bad high school talent show. In the better parts it was comparable to the third or fourth week of American Idol. Where you're still weeding out the 'ok' acts. I don't know, I wasn't impressed. But aperantly some people were. The lead singer asked the audience if anyone had gone to see them more than five times, and I'd say about half of the audience came alive with approval, and some people were shouting out songs for them to sing. And according the the lead singer, the band just got done touring with the Boston Pops, so that's kinda cool. But I wouldn't have paid a wooden nickel to go and see them. I'm sorry my dad wasted his money. He swears that what he's taking me to see in November is going to be so much better. Like I said, he just got in way over his head this time. He boldly forged onward into uncharted territory, and got himself stuck in the mud. I can't blame him for trying. Usually he hits what I like right on the head, but this was not a safe move. Oh well, live and ya learn, and we had a good dinner so the night wasn't a total wash. And I have something to look forward to in november. My birthday's on the 23 of this month for all who care. Then I'll be 22 wahhhhh! I'm so old.
