Another poem I wrote, this one was for one of my friends I care about greatly.

Innocence

When I first saw you, for the first in a while,
An aura of pure light, sitting alone,
A face of angelic proportions
Contorted slightly by a troubled subject.
Walking up behind you,
I allow a familiar voice to bring you a brief smile.
That sparkling moment of joy dripped away
Replaced by a face of sorrows,
A look of hurt, but more than any,
A glance of comfusion
As your gentle lips spilled a question
To which the answer I know all too well.
Yet it was when you announced a feeling,
That could only be known by experiece,
That my heart cried out in anguish
At the thought that someone close to my heart
Was violated by a coniving wolf,
Preying on her innocence with hollow lies
And theater threats.
You told me what happened,
How he used you with no regard to your feelings,
Caring only for his own selfish pleasures.
I continued to listen as you told me
How he changed, coating lies
With a sugar to make them sound justified.
I saw your eyes as the pain turned them red,
And the began to spill from your eyes.
I wiped them away from one eye gently,
Telling you a truth that is unknown to many,
How he was a wolf preying on you
Because he saw you as nothing more than a thing to use.
He cared not as he raped your emotions
And tried to strip you of your innocence.
That if he only sees you as a slave
To his own senseless desires,
He doesn't your care and love,
He's not worth the pain,
And you deserve so much better than him.
I held you tight with gentle arms
As you laid your head against my chest,
One arm wrapped around me,
Gripping tightly as if to never let go,
Your body shaking in my arms,
Each shudder worst that the last.
And as your tears drop heavily
From your eyes onto my arm,
I held you tighter as I felt hurt,
Your pain, your sorrow flood my heart,
And realized how pained you are.
And....
It made me want to cry with you
So you know you're not alone.....

This is a message to everyone who's ever felt pressured in that way.
